Hi Lampros,
As you know, we’re a tiny studio for the scale of games we make. Developing a new game takes a lot of effort. So imagine developing a new game AND changing engine (to Unreal 4)! For this reason, the focus here at Rogue Factor has now switched to Necromunda. We certainly don’t discredit the idea of doing more DLCs for Mordheim but at this moment, we decided that the best option is to concentrate our efforts on building a strong foundation for Necromunda.
We’ll definitely let the community know if at some point in the future we manage to squeeze in additional content for Mordheim.
Cheers,
JM
We hope that the development of Mordheim live on :/
He just answered, and it looks like Mordheim is done :(
Got it; thanks for the prompt response. While I am sad at the likely end of substantive development of Mordheim, I wish you luck with Necromunda. And while I am not a fan of sci-fi settings, perhaps this will be an exception! ;)
Similarly mildly depressed about the Mordheim being at the moment at its final stage, but time moves on (to my endless resentment).
Not that I know anything about the sourcematerial, unlike with Mordheim.
Wish you luck.
Same boat here. I've been an avid fan of the Warhammer fantasy for decades, but I've never gone near the 40k stuff.
With me all else of those who played Fantasy-proper also played 40k, so I have some general idea.
Never got into 40k myself, as I found the gameplay itself quite uninspired, and I never liked mass-ranged combat much. It just didn't offer me anything I couldn't get better from the Fantasy.
Obviously I know next to nothing of Necromunda, so my misgivings may not apply.
Necromunda is a Hive World in the Warhammer 40k universe. Basically, on the World itself are huge Spires where people live and work. As time goes, they keep building the Spire higher and the bottom section becomes abandoned, filled with toxic wastes and dumped chemicals. In the abandoned sections lives Gangs who fight for the resources that were left behind.
Although it is taking place in the 40k universe, Necromunda is not about Space Marines and large scale conflicts, it’s about small scale battles (similar to Mordheim) by gangs who seek control of the remaining resources lost in the abandoned Underhive.
So unless you can’t stand a setting of sci-fi mixed with a post-apocalyptic touch, there are good chances you’ll enjoy Necromunda if you liked Mordheim :)
Can't wait for Necromunda though.
If anyone has specific questions I'm happy to answer either on here or via pm as I have all the Necromunda material and have been a member of Yakromunda for years.
