I can't get the second crane to lower. Tried different characters but no one can activate it. I've done the first crane, the blood altar, killed the ogre and placed the heart. Has anyone else had this problem and is there a fixed? I really don't want to rout the match and do it again and have the same thing happen.

Might try save and reload and see if that fixes it. If you do need to quit the mission make sure and get the presona killed as that will end it without giving you injury checks.

Had to retry after the same issue.
No idea if it made any difference but used the same character, on the same turn, that had placed the item on the crane.
All well before meeting the Ogre.

If this issue does not resolve itself, suicide the Dramatis Personae. Your Warband will flee and none get hurt.
That said, how the hell have I never got trouble with the cranes, yet apparently they are a semi-common issue?

Yeah, I never had any problems with the cranes ever

If saving and reloading doesn't work then the suicide the special character as mentioned. I didn't have any issues with that mission though I must say I was so thankful that the caves were closed off as that map can take impossibly long sometimes.
