Its not terrible directly at normal difficulty on my skaven warband, but i have noticed that on a freshly made warband, even normal ranked, seem to be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. they cant possibly be only as good as my own warband.
my impressive dies to theirs (starting at rank 5 with a new warband that is) and my normal soldiers for the most part cant stand up to theirs.
Hard: Enemies will have an additional 15% Wounds and damage bonus.
Brutal: Enemies will have an additional 30% Wounds and damage bonus.
Deadly: Enemies will have an additional 45% Wounds and damage bonus.
Brutal level and Higher Encounters give the chance of a Neutral Demon impressive running around the field trying to kill both teams.
And there is a chance of an Ambush... so you can start out in shoes where you are at a disadvangtage and surrounded by enemies... or worse... Ambushing them.... and they've all got higher initiative... which still means you're the one Ambushed....
So they will all come in and attack you immediately from positions you can't defend...
Be ready to lose guys to OoA if that happens to you... because you will lose some, potentially the weaker ones.
EDIT: There is this funny thread by a guy named Spryt who didn't know that could happen and got wiped out. I was going to bump the thing because its a real shock if you'd never known about it. We talked to him after a while and cheered him up a little. But it sure had him down the when he first walked head long into one.
At Rank 8, yeah, you kind of are.
Well, not exactly wrong, but if your dmg dealer or tank Hero units can't handle a single Normal or Hard difficulty Henchman relatively easy by themselves, you might want to try looking at some guides and advice for builds.
If you don't know about it already, http://www.pyrospace.co.uk/mordheim/ is very helpful in planning your builds.
The AI only gets a bonus to stupidity tests because it can't use guidance well. It also auto-discovers your units, of one AI units spots just one of yours. This was done to ensure the AI maintains it cohesion and is more likely to attack you en masse instead of piecemeal. Furthermore:
Also, Ambush and Deamons only occur when at least one unit of your warband has reached rank 6.
No
Well, play Deadly and find out :). The difference between brutal and deadly is not insignificant.
So, having reliable parry or dodge tanks one can handle even deadly. Ok.
Hard to say...
Look I'll go bump that old thread... and you can see his experience with it... he was saying he had guys with 100-130 parry and web of steel and they were still destroyed in 1-2 rounds...
Not much to come out of it, but I suppose it is appropriate if I bump it just for information purposes.
