If you want to rank up literally play strategist or vanguard
I know this sound bad coming from a DPS main
but looking through players winrates in high GM and celetial
All these people play Strategist and vanguard.
You as a DPS player are probably better then most these people but you're completing with other DPS players over slots in higher rank.

Play strategist or vanguard to rank up
Then do the switch up and play DPS.

Honestly I say take the MOBA approach. Learn 2 characters well in each class and you will never have a problem and you will climb as long as your team is competent.
That's good advice tbh, i'm actually planning to learn more on how to play Strange and Groot, since i mainly play Strategist, but when 2 people insta-lock Strategist, i'm just not as useful to the team.

Learning different classes to fill is how people can climb.

Exactly it's always a good way to go. Applied knowledge is power.
Strategist and vanguard are boring to play.

I am a GM3. I play strategist exclusively. You need to know four heroes minimum. My last GM match had both Luna and CLoak and Dagger banned which are two of my mains, and two of the other healers mains. The other guy only knew Rocket so I played Invis, and we won. And from gold rank on, what the real difference is is how good the tank play is. Tank play in Diamond and above is insane, with a GM level Thor being a backline nightmare.

Or just play Spiderman and hope your team carry you.

I mean you kind of need them to. If your team can't effectively hold their attention, you can't really do anything as Spider-Man.

AND the OP is wrong. Go to the leader board right now. On the first page SIX of them are DPS, three are support, one is vanguard. Pretty much EVERY top ranked match is going to have 2/2/2 and that means DPS will be well represented. It is a much difference skill set than vanguard and support

Exactly I know when I heal I am covering the people on the objective first. Player wise my first on is tank and other supports then dps. While doing that it's watching for divers and killing damage plugs(IE ankhs clones squids etc.).

100% And I Agree but it doesn't change anything.
Most people in higher GM and cele have higher win rates as vanguard and healer
Not as DPS.

Right youre comparing top 500
To you and you're dogwater gameplay.

There's alot more dps mains then healer or vanguard.
meaning by default
You will gain higher ranks in support or vanguard then you will in DPS
This was also true for overwatch after role queue.

Also YOURE COMPARING TO 6 STACKS.
https://rivalsmeta.com/leaderboard
The three top people right here
All play together.
They are always 6 stacked and probably have smurfs for solo queuing.
