In their eyes it was much more profitable to just work on the sequal for consoles and not put money towards a PC port.
Fond memories I had of that game.
Unfortunately It is rather err,old now and Is not really that good lol.
I don't think either of them got PC versions, so emulation would be the only option. How exactly does emulation work when it comes to selling games? Would they have to still pay a license fee to the old console manufacturer? I know SEGA sells their emulated classic games, but they also produced the console they're emulated from. There has to be a precedent of this somewhere.
To be fair, Sudeki wasn't very good when it came out either. It had a lot of charm and a great looking world, though. That's why I ended up playing through it back in the day, too. (Also, the hilariously bad voice acting like when everyone meets their doppelganger)
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I *think* the only difference between the two versions was that the Gamecube version looked a little better. The only reason they called it "Summoner: A Goddess Reborn" instead of "Summoner 2" was because they were worried it wouldn't sell as well due to people assuming you might need to play Summoner 1 (which wasn't availble on the GC) to enjoy Summoner 2.
I think the main girl had a different model but the game had framerate issues.
I loved all the references from summoner 1 the sequel had. Overall I enjoyed the game a lot and I found it to be a worthy sequel. I emailed volition around 2 years ago when I was replaying the games asking them if theres any plans for a summoner 3. I was surprised they actually responded to me but sadly there is no future for summoner 3 and now that nordic has the license I have no hope for the series.
