Can't activate intenso using standard xbox 360 controller

I know what you're all thinking: "You're pressing DOWN on the control sticks and not IN!" No, I'm not. I know the proper input to activate intenso, it's just not working. I'm using a standard Xbox wireless controller and the Joystick IN inputs are detected by all other software I use. For whatever reason, the joystick IN inputs aren't being registered by this game. I tried emulating my PS4 controller as a Xbox controller as well, but it encountered the same problem. I had to switch to keyboard just to get past the intenso tutorial. Has anyone else had this problem? I haven't been able to find any solution on google.

Hey me again. I'm an idiot. A crumb was stuck under my left joystick and although it was making the clicking sound, it was only registering part of the time. Leaving this comment up so others can learn from my stupidity.
