Let me toggle the fight challenge on
I just accidentally fought cael but forgot to toggle the essence challenge on.

If it’s the first turn of battle, please let us go back to toggle the challenge on, it sucks to lose out on a titan run this way when you know you can handle the harder fight.

I fully agree with this.
(it would also help those who accidentally toggled a challenge too steep, and those who want to take a second look at the stats of the boss)

I would not be opposed to this, but there is an argument to be made that if you toggle on a challenge you shouldn’t have and are losing, that’s part of the skill check.

But turning on a titan essence challenge you just forgot to turn on is pretty reasonable.
I would like to have them be toggled on by default if I have toggled one on already.
Or add an option (in the option menu) that does the following : if this option is checked, always ask the player if he is certain of his choice. Not very practical tbh
I would be fine if it was just an option that, once selected, means that each challenge is autoselected on on, and if you don't want to, you would need to manually remove it.
I take over 80% of the challenges anyway, so ....

This is s very very good point!
I agree Restart Battle should include the Trial toggle.

This. I wouldn't have an issue with being able to go back and toggle it on if you just forgot, but honestly if you've already taken one Titan Trial there's really no reason why you wouldn't do the others unless you really feel like the run is scuffed.

restart battle just makes menu-available what could previously be obtained by abusing save state and exit/re-enter mechanics in MT1.

It has never included the ability to toggle the trial, and in all honesty, it SHOULDN'T. While it already CAN be abused to "peek ahead" at random events (looking at you, Mix) and redo decisions, the fundamental intention of it is to undo MISTAKES. Picking a challenge and then going back and UNPICKING because it was too hard is a failed gamble, not a mistake. So is not picking an challenge and then wanting to go back and turn it on because you handled it better than you thought.

I sympathize with the OP. I've had situations where I made a snap judgement about a challenge and then, when it was too late, remembered that my deck was (or wasn't) equipped to handle it, hitting that realization right as the button was pressed, even before the fight fully even loaded up.

But being able to go back and reselect challenges pushes the game even closer towards "win every run" when I can go back and redo choice after choice.

I've seen people describe accepting Pyre Dampener before seeing (on first turn, before any gamble is tested!) that their deck includes 3-cost cards.

Not exactly.
I usually follow my actions of the turn precisely up until the point where I misclicked on something. However, I also noticed that random is only pre-rolled a few steps ahead, not entirely. If you just play the cards in a different order, you often get a different outcome of the random event.
(I wouldn't use it on purpose, but it's there)

Fully agree. Just happened to me at the instant, forgot to turn it on, which is annoying.
as a casual i only see this as a good thing. Hoping some day it gets implimented.
The most consistent thing I'm losing to, is Penitent Prayerstone trial on floor 7.
I really don't know what possesses me to accept it.
Wish there was a way to undo that choice.

I think a better option is to not have it on either by default.

If you try to start the stage without choosing, it won’t let you start. You have to set it one way or the other first.
I think it should be a option in the ... options to turn Titan trails always on.
