Obligatory info: all the clans are easier after you unlock all the cards by getting them to level 10.
I just dont see it, gilda is so fking useless. the harvest path is... beyond stupid? like if u kill all then theres nothing to apply pyre too, but if u dont kill anything.... u get no pyre lmfaooo.
i dont see it, i get beaten by the first or 2nd boss 90% of the time.
the other 10% i get god rng with greed dragon and multistrike and some duplicates.
It doesn't do much in a fight. But once you start scaling your resources it goes outn of control..
the idea is that you sweep/nuke the low health mobs on a floor, then prep the big monster for your next floors to mop up, i think. excellent for stacking up pyregel on flying bosses
In the first game, literally every champion had one terrible path (like Direchannel Solgerd), creating situations where you effectively have just one option to take (whichever one is the other offered).
The other two paths for Gilda are extremely powerful - my favourite is the egg path, but avarice works too. Note that her seemingly useless whelps interact with avarice - whenever you blow one up to strike all enemies for 1 damage, it counts (and gives you money for each "strike").
With egg path, you just set her on second/third(?) floor alone, with a weapon if able. The floor below whittles enemies down, and she finishes them off with Trample. So perfect weapon choice here - either Quick, or triggering on Slay. Use supporting clan's cards to buff her, and expand the space to put someone in front later on. She's fully capable of fighting bosses in a duel, if all goes well.
In both cases, I recommend continuing down the same path rather than branching.
(that said, I do not like Talos' cards - so this combination would mean spending most of your easily-earned gold getting rid of trash)
but without greed dragon, i just dont see the win. pyregel is useless most of the time. and all the other cards are just meh.
primitive mold start and related harvest units
It allows you to spam welps, sacc them, and stack pyre. On its own, it is a one-trick pony - after a while, you have lost all whelps. So, it needs some support. A quick/sweep unit or some spell damage does help in getting more harvest buffs. The room that increases the stacks also helps immensly there.
That said, if I compare it to the original champion's pyrereg upgrade, I would rather take that one. I also mostly take egg support if I can....
The other way around (Luna Heal/Damage x Pyregel) had way better synergy
I've had a run where I had 9 or 10 Greed Dragons with multi strike and reduced to 1 space seize.
I also had so much horde gain i was ending up with 10-11 ( max or 13 ) very early on, I had so many artifacts that it unlocked a second row for me visually you had to click down to watch...
Not much Saraph can do when almost all units units you spawn are 110+/110+ multi strike and you have 3 of them on each floor. ( he died 3 waves before the final wave )
I just did a Conv 10 run with it, though I did get a lot of damage in the early fights.
of the best starting stats and trample to finish off stragglers from your lower floors, which will be your main focus. You’ll naturally earn a lot of gold and artifacts from her egg celebrate, and don’t be afraid to supplement with additional hoard cards but you should only need a couple.
Avarice path is also relatively straightforward but less good for combat and requires you to plan accordingly for a floor that is weak combat-wise but can earn a ton of gold especially if you stall out a few relentless fights. You’ll have more gold than you know what to do with if you do it right.
Harvest is the hardest to use but powerful if you understand it’s *your own* units you are supposed to be harvesting, typically in the form of welps, but other clans can provide additional synergy such as funguy which harvest once per troop lost. Endless will be a great upgrade here on some units so that you just stick em in front of harvest gilda bottom floor, and finish them
off with your mid and top floors.
