Man idk what it is but I am having 0 fun compared to MT1
feel like EVERY build is just weak af except multistrike scaling, spells suck ass, incant takes too long to do anything idk. maybe I need to unlock more but every time I do a run I just get to the point it feels like I wasted an hour

You will unlock a lot more options.

Incant stacking worked really well for me usually, better than the other options from lunar at least. Just try to set up a solid frontline on each level via unit mods and duplicates. Pair it with pyreborn for access to decent aoe too and you are golden.
The issue is that there are some outright bad champ upgrades, once you figure out which ones are op it will be much better. Most champs that can scale permanently are really op for example. incant is difficult to get working too imo, unless maybe you are using lazarus league mix mechanic (it counts as two triggers)

Luna incant is insane. I can easily pull 200-300 damage single spells by the second or third battle.

If you don't have fun, play something else and come back later.

*your every build
fixed it
gotta learn new dance moves, it's a new game, I'm sorry
Lunca incant is absolutely wild. Especially once you get a bit of a spoiler. It's not at all unreasonable to get +60 or more spellpower by turn 2 and 100+ by boss wave. Spells are arguably way stronger than most units, they just are more dependant on comboing whereas most creatures work fine just dropping them down. There's also a lot of ways to get a floor filled with units that have multiple hundreds of attack each so multistrike isn't that important as long as you can even ping the backline.

Yeah just had the strongest build of my life between both games, lose because corruption boss just ruins too many runs, corruption NEEDS nerfed/changed or the boss needs reworked

if I roll that boss I think it's gonna be an insta-abandon go next for now

Honestly id almost call this a skill issue. No hate just it's INSANELY easy to make broken builds every run. Until you get to high cov rank then it might change for you but early cov ranks even it's every game as a W i honestly wish the game was HARDER.

Sounds like you had nothing but glass cannons and no way to prevent/deal with damage. You know ahead of time which Seraph you'll face, so you could have prepared for it.
An endless front tank for example is really solid there, as you can just summon it again when it dies, removing all the corruption buildup, same with having units on all floors so it's more spread out

I feel like some people might be coming into this game off of dozens of hours of experience with the first game and have forgotten what it was like before they unlocked all the upgrades in MT1.

There was no "upgrades" in MT1, only "unlocks". In MT2 you can at least change pyre heart.

People who expecting unlocks to give them 100% guaranteed wincon on level 10 don't understand how roguelikes work.

lol
stacking decay and/or pyregel, I nuke last boss in before the fight starts :D

Yeah I'm hard-stuck at cov 5. Too smooth brained for this game. Hanging it up now. Got nearly 40 hrs.

Didn't really enjoy it tbh. 4 wins in that playtime? Every win was by the skin of my teeth on the last boss even if the build was doing ok before that. Really a noob should have a 25% winrate and a veteran should have a plus 50% imo. A >5% winrate feels bad.

Don't understand what all these game breaking strats are. My tempo is always constrained and my dps and my hp are always way behind. I don't see any crazy combos in the card mechanics either. I never once made a broken build.

One, I need to secure a tank every run. Otherwise nothing else works, and I really need two. Two, I need some consistent dps which sometimes never shows. Then my gimmick whatever it is has to come together, more often than not I am dumpstered before I can get any engine going.

You can't see the level 5 or seven boss and they can hard counter you too. Had a revenge build going, boss 7, statue boss. Of course no movement spells in my deck.

Oh you just need to do this and this and this and then the game is a cakewalk. You have all the tools available to you. Yeah ok.

Like I said too smooth brained for this game.

Also watching some high level player break the game on youtube and then just doing what they did, to me that is not playing a game. I guess some people follow metas for competitive games but for this, I don't see the point.

The onboarding is terrible, and the game is just too punishing for me, never played the first game so I can't speak to that, well I played it for like an hour or something and didn't like the presentation. The presentation on this one is much better. Story is really badly done though. Just started skipping the skits.

Good game. Not for me.

No, I had tanks with a couple hundred shield, the issue is my backline didn't have insane hp so 2 corruption into 4 into 8 killed them before i could stack shield on ALL of them, there's no preventing the aoe corruption and doubling that I can see, besides out healing it/shielding it.
