Carry over progress between PC Game Pass and Steam?

If I play this for a couple weeks on a PC Game Pass trial and decide to pick it up on Steam after my subscription ends, will I be able to carry over my process? If not automatically, could I do it manually by moving a save file?

Can we just locally move the save file from Game Pass version to Steam version?

Just tested this: There is cross save, if you play on Game Pass. Played a while on Xbox, then booted it up on PC. My game was there.
