Little more optimizaton please
First I must say that I really like the game. I played it from first public alphas till nowadays. Broforce probably is most fun 2D shoot'em up where you can blow almost all that you can see and where you must fight plenty of enemies since Metal Slug. And I almost completed it with a friend of mine. Almost. The problem is that there are some scenes in which my FPS drops to 3-5. For example - on the last level huge framedrops appears when blocks of ashes decay. And on the last boss FPS goes sometimes lower than one. You can SPF becomes about 3-5 in these cases. I know that my laptop is not a modern gaming computer (ASUS N53TK with 4GB RAM). Still I completed Shadow Warrior 2013 on it without any big FPS problems. I play Dark Souls 2 with my friend now and the game runs absolutely fine. As for indie - I play Running with Rifles (loadings are pretty long - just like in Broforce, but other than that I don't have any problems) and SteamWorld Heist and they run without any problems on this laptop. If you'll take 2D games with destructive environment - Spelunky remake also runs fine. And original Spelunky runs fine on my old laptop (Acer Aspire 5315 with 1GB RAM). Hell even Hammerfight runs better on my old laptop then Broforce runs on my new one. So I have a plenty of examples of modern or similar to Broforce games that don't have this problem. If you'll check Steam statistics there are still plenty of people that have not very modern computers (4GB RAM is still a very popular option). Indie was always a heaven for those who couldn't play modern AAA. Even I came to indie because of this reason. So please don't prove that modern indie specs are similar to modern AAA specs.

One thing i know can't be avoided, is that the Unity engine they built Broforce in isn't optimized for 2D games, but rather for 3D games, so you know the optimization won't be able to go past a certain point...
But i'm totally with you. Broforce needs to be optimized.

Last week I befriended a guy on the GoG forums, to which i promized to test the new update that was about to come. He wanted to know if he could expect optimizations on the game to make it run on is computer.
Unfortunately there wasn't a significant one added :/

Broforce requires a bruteforce CPU in order to mantain 60 fps.

I had several performance issues with an i7 920, now with a i5 6600k I can run it perfectly at 60.
Only exceptions being the last part of Timebro level and badly made custom maps.

Yep, most custom maps are bad optimized unfortunately. Well, at least I mean that levels that I've tried.

I just wish that they'd do something about the abysmal loading times. Broforce has long had frustratingly bad loading times, but coming back to play it after a long break shows just how terrible they are.

And that "Now Loading" logo is pretty much entirely pointless. Since it isn't animated, you still can't tell whether or not the game has locked up. And it isn't even used on most of the loading screens anyway, which are still just solid black screens.
