Double tap direction to dash?

So I started a covert mission, and there's something at the beginning that says double tap direction for dash. However, double tapping direction does not produce a dash. I suppose I could wait till I get a bro with a dash ability, or some other ability that allows me to bridge that gap, but still, this is annoying. Anyone have an idea what is going on?

you don't do a dash, you just run faster and jump farther :p also, double tap and hold

It's to sprint, not dash. Hold the direction key the second tap and you'll run faster

I used snake bro using The fly thing in The graple i think run and use him in The end jump and fly bro ( i am brasilian my english is not good bro)

Same problem here. I doble tap the direction but nothing happens. I fell down the cliff a dozen times. It is frustrating.

Edit: I just found that there is a dash button. After completing 3/4 of the game I found this option. Strange.

This is so moronic. Not only double tapping doesn't do anything, they even have a LeftShift key that's supposed to Dash, and it does nothing. And it turns out the game doesn't even have a Dash??

It most definitely does have a dash / sprint ability. Try double tapping the opposite direction of the one you’re traveling in without raking your finger off of that direction

It is the left-bumper on mine.
When it activates, there is a curly line animation, like a puff of wind.

left bumper on xbox one will make you run fast enough to jump over the gaps
