Small detail from Dennis Wedin Himself / Podcast

Hey gang, you might remember me as guy that posted in the Hotline Miami 1 forum about a podcast we recorded analyzing the first game. I hope that didn't come off too sleezy and spammy, cause we truly do love the games, and we just wanna promote discussion. It was our most successful episode to date, and if you actually took the time to check it out, we very much appreciate it.

Welllll.... we played Hotline Miami 2; Wrong Number next, and boy did it leave us with a good number of burning questions. The resulting episode is part rant, part speculation, and was a whole lot of fun to record. We seen a good amount of feedback since its April 1st release as well, culminating with a personal Facebook correspondence with Dennis Wedin of Dennaton Games himself. HOW AWESOME IS THAT?! We couldn't be thankful enough that he would take the time to give it a listen, much less provide his opinion.

HOWEVER, in the conversation, he also stated that there is a small detail regarding the Biker / Helmet character that can change the perceived timeline of the series, or at least cast a new light on what we think happened. He said we missed it, but some people out there have seen it. Also, he stated there is a deeper secret that he has seen nobody get close to that can "explain a lot of the questions."

This seriously blew our minds, and we're still not sure what to make of it. I will post the part of the conversation regarding these details below and see what you can make of it. Once again, thanks for giving us some of your time, your support and discussion is all we can ever ask for!

yeah, there is one more biker detail. was a couple of times i really really wished a was with you over the phone or something to just throw some comments at your dialog

yeah, they have! it's a very small one, but it changes the discussion "which storyline is canon"

it's not a "this is the way it is" detail, just that it can steer the direction of your thoughts around biker.. if you wanted to. i am not saying that your explanation is wrong, it's is not, just want to ♥♥♥♥ with you a bit, if i had been on there i would have been like "that is correct, but then this detail.. how does that work with it all?"

there is one detail in both the games that noone has even touched upon, when trying to figure the whole story, that could explain a lot of questions

Dennis might be talking about the fact that it doesn't say level clear and the music doesn't stop when you "kill" Biker, like what usually happens when you kill everyone in a level.

Theory:
Maybe its that were coming from another perspective
OF A CAMERA MAN!!
Y'know how all of HM2 is basically like one big movie? Not only to look cool, but also to be CANON!
Non of the way any dead characters in the game, besides ones kiled by the nuke or the son are the same by every view point!

but Tony, he is seen surviving the shotgun shot, and being killed by Manny Pardo that would make sence because he is seen w/a bullet proof vest
but A&A... It makes no sence, A&A's POV is seen as being shot with a magnum

Pardos POV of Fans Deaths
While we never see any on screen deaths of the fans besides Tony, I can only see the dead bodys, all of those are shot; so

This also seems like it has insperation from Quintein Terrintino with multiple characters and POV's hopping around everywhere

They officially stated that HM2 follows the path where Jacket defeats Biker. From the bar of broken heroes and the scene in front of the court we can see that Biker is actually alive. Sure, it changes things, apparently Jacket's visions while in coma were distorted and he only wounded the Biker, but I don't see how it changes the matter of which storyline is actually canon, there should be no doubt.
About the secret being present in both games - without any, even slightest hints, all we can do is guess. Fans already digged out almost everything out of the game, venturing sometimes into some really far-fetched theories. The only thing that comes to my head at the moment is that the whole HM is a movie - we can see the tape being rewinded in the first game after Jacket kills the Russian boss and it's obviously clear in the second one with the levels being VHS tapes and the TV overlay when you pause the game. That makes basically everything a fiction - but does it really change anything for the players? From our standpoint it's still fiction, no matter whether it's "double fiction" or just fiction. The only questions remaining would be - is it a document, mock documentary or maybe is it just complete fiction with actors?
Still, it's just a crapshoot.
