Don't do this, if you wanna support the devs just buy a copy on Humble Bundle Store.

Even on Humble Store? Didn't know about that, sorry. I thought he could buy the DRM-Free version there.

I would test it with en empty account first. It is possible that your account could be banned. Also there a lots of different methods, e.g. gifiting it from your vpn account to your normal account, pros and cons, etc. Lots of different youtube videos out there about this topic.

Haven't tried it yet. If it's legal to import, you could try to get a Steam key somewhere. That's how I was able to get Half-Life 1 uncensored in Germany, by buying Retail at amazon UK. (If it's legal for you to own in Australia, write to Steam support if you have a key somehwere.)

Australia has a bloody nanny state at times so it basically looked for everywhere HM2 was digitally sold and blocked it, I think. That's what cactus encouraged pirating since there was no way other than "move to UK or anywhere else where it ain't banned and set up different steam".

It's Australia's law, not Steam's law. You can't legally purchase it anywhere there.
