Everything is a film?

Well i asked myself, if everything is a film. Because Pig Butcher is in a film, the detective too.So why shouldnt the whole game be a film? It semms quiet unrealistic (even for hlm)that russia just nukes Miami/America. Also in the Screen where you select the acts, there are also VHS, it would also explain why you can just rewind everything.
Anyone else thought about this?

Detective is not in a film, he was dreaming about being in a film because he is an attention hoe.

There's some dark part in the story that I didn't understand,also when Beard died and there was a movie set outside the market,dunno,maybe it's just a movie but didn't explain why in hard mode Richard talks with all the charaters said that their lives led them to the perdition,so all was real,or maybe Richard is just the director and in fact was a movie :S,mind fuc|k

That is also an evidence, because they will die every time you start again, like in a film. Film characters cant change the future, it will happen all over again. I tink only beard understands that..

It also seems like the Pig Butcher may not be acting in a film towards the end of his story, especially when he gets shot by live rounds at the end. The stage sets and camera crew may have been hallucinations to help him deal with his actions. It's implied that he only starred in the film because he basically wanted to be Jacket. Perhaps the acting role wasn't enough.

However, if you replay the story you will get a scene at the beginning where Richard is watching the events of Hotline Miami on a projector and he has all the protagonists at a table around him.

that and it was him acting out what would happen to him.

There's also no set outside Beard's shop, that's people panicking at the sight of the nuke.
