Can't upgrade to digital special edition

I've bought main game on release and now wanted to upgrade it to DSE to get PD2 content. But after adding it in cart it says I already have this game and only allows me to buy it as a gift.
Any way to get around this?

I've been trying to figure the same thing out. Some of what I've seen in other threads suggest that we can upgrade, but I haven't found the way. Maybe there's an issue with upgrading while it's on sale?

refund the game then buy the digital special edition, its the only way, but it will cost you a little more since it wont refund the full amount

I happened to try that, explained the situation, but it said i was outside the refund policy

Yeah, i've bought game back at release and played it for a while. Definetly won't pass refund criterias.
