Reaction time of the AI
Well, i know this seems like a rage discussion because of me dying for the 400th time (it is) but i'm here to talk about the games absurd AI reaction time. Look, i still like this game. Sure, i prefer HLM1. But this game is an amazing sequel, however. It removed making melee actually a fun thing to do, as in HLM1. The AI won't instanly turn and lock on to your ass in 0,1 microsecond. And it made the melee fun because of the slowed AI reaction time. In this game, there is barely a thing as rushing into a room and actually killing the Russian Mobsters armed to the teeth with a melee. The best ways to use a melee is either Bait, or just use a gun instead. Which is, you guessed it. The better way.

This is really the thing i don't like about this game, and makes up for some whacky situations.

Not at all a rage thing, they just made it a bit crazy. Reaction times were either randomized or really inconsistent in the first game. They made it consistent in HLM2, but I guess they just based the consistent reaction time off of the quickest reactions instead of somewhere in the middle. It was annoying when guys in the first game zipped around and killed you instantly, but it was pretty fun to run up and kill an enemy that normally would have shot you, but didn't turn around fast enough.

I agree that it could have used a bit more tuning. It's even more egregious on hard mode. There are even still moments where they instantly turn around without an animation, so it's not like it even fixed that issue in the first place, really. Melee in HLM2 is more just learning what enemies you can and can't hit.

[EDIT] But I guess they compensated for it a little bit by increasing the time your swings take? It makes it easier to time your attacks.

the AI's reaction time is definitely a bit overcranked
it still seems randomized like HM1, but overall much faster and with less room for variation
I think it would be less frustrating if the camera wasn't so horrible, it should have been like Intravenous or OTXO instead (moving the mouse to the edge of the screen automatically moves the camera along with it)
