Soldier is useless ♥♥♥♥

The beard (soldier)'s ammo is limited unless you find ammo boxes. I know, its makes the first stage a ♥♥♥♥♥. Basically switch to knife and lure enemies if you want to conserve ammo. Special ability key aka space bar to switch to melee

sorry. it is hard as ♥♥♥♥. took me a while too, but you'll get it if you can learn and adapt. The level design is far from perfect, but it is possible for us if we really give it our best shot and try to learn.

Use your knife and bait enemies around the corner.

I'd recommend running Shotgun and conserve ammo only for people standing across the room with guns, the big guys with knives or SMG's and the enemies crouched behind tables.

I also hate to break it for you, but Stronghold is not even the hardest level for the Soldier at least in my opinion. No spoilers but I'll let you figure it out.

strategy that got me through hard mode: for the first building level, bait dudes in the hallway and slash them up with the knife then run into one of the computer rooms without a fat dude, have the soldiers waste their ammo firing into the console while you stand behind it, then slash 'em up, keep baiting with the knife for the goons in the hallways until you can reach the ammo box
