[SPOILERS] How did Beard know Richard?

So i just saw the table sequence and Beard seemed to know Richard even when they don't appear together in-game, how they met then?

because Richard is basically jacket since its the first mask he gets and is the only one who seems to have the mask and jacket served in the war with beard

Well if you mean the New Game intro, I think it's because Beard was the only one who could be considered, uh, "sinless"?
All the other characters had a major flaw. Example, Son was too ambitious and violent, Henchman was too greedy. Jake was too hateful. Etc. Beard was the only one out of the lot who did what he had to do and turned to peace the moment he could.

yeah but jackets main line was do you like hurting other people which comes into the fact that all the characters are bad people and jacket richard is the inner person of them thats why he shows up in dreams or fiction because jacket is them he what gives them the blood urge thats why on new game start up he has all the characters there and tells them that they have wasted their time because they are all like him and originate from him

well yes as jackets is in prison but im not saying its physically jaceket its jackets shadow his past thats haunting them thats why he appears in dreams because hes not there but truly he is inside all of the characters because they are all bad people so what im saying is that its not physical jacket its the inner being almost like the devil of all of them because he can tell the future for all of them richard is the voice of jacket since jacket never talked in the first game but since richard represents jacket and jacket wasn't a killer until he got the richard mask richard is like the being that makes him kill seeing how in the first game after killing the bum he feels sick because he doesn't know what hes becoming its almost like the mask is the gate key or something to their inner demons like the general said during bears campaign but thats just my opinion

To put it into an actual grammatically correct and readable sentence. He is basically saying that Richard appearing to people as Jacket is a metaphor for how Jacket has affected the characters of HM. The Fans love Jacket and want to be like him. The Son had his father's empire crumble in front of him. Beard was his friend. Rickter of course killed Jacket's girlfriend.

Richard is the harbinger of Doom. A wake up call to those who are still dreaming or sleeping. To wake up so that they can stop the senseless violence. Jacket is the most important centre character as he is the catalyst for the events of HM. He has affected the lives of everyone of the player characters. There is a difference between Jacket and Richard. One is lazy, procrastinates and is generally unaware of the bigger things around him because he is too focused on small things. Richard on the other hand knows all and attempts to change the future to try to stop impending Doom.
