The game is on google play but it says: "Your device isn't compatible with this version". So what this suppose to mean?

It means that your devide isn't compatible with this version of the game. It's simple, you can't can't run it with your particular phone/tablet.

You should honestly play it on PC. It'll run better, look better, and control MUCH better. Because the storyline to the Hotline series is so great, getting gunked down by bad controls and missing it as a result of frustration would suck, and greatly detract from the Hotline experience.

Just play it on PC.

I already beat both games and getting close to get A+ on all levels in 2nd game. I would like to see how it turns out on phone but oh well..

I have old ♥♥♥♥ phone and it runs on 30fps but u need gamepad and keyboard dont work

Hey, i'm so glad to talk about this question. Actually, i have already played Hotline Miami 1 on my cellphone( a transplant version of the game for android system and touchscreen), you would never ever expect how hard it is to play on a touch screen ( there are only 2 buttons, one for hitting, another for picking up a weapon, and i have not figured out how to execute the enemy)
And there is just one controller for moving, you have to adjust the direction and perspective by touching and swiping another part of the screen.
Considering how complicated the combat and control system is (for a top-down game), it would be nearly impossible for you yo play without a cellphone controller (you probably have heard something like that, it looks like a NES controller enclosed around your cellphone), and the reason why the game you download is not compatible to ur phone is that you need such a controller to play it.
BTW, i found the transplant version of hm1 on a chinese crackdown game website, and if i can find it, ill post the link to you later.

Ok I have new phone and it runs 60 fps both 1 or 2. You need to play it with controler. It is possible on screen but why would you do that. You just cant instal and run it from google playstore becouse its not mobile game. Its shield game which is android TV. And shield have its own playstore with games like hm or re5. But some russians ported it on phone. Actualy I have both of these games on my steem you can look so I dont take it as stealing of that game. I even made map but that will understand only my friends. Actualy with gamepad its same gameplay as pc. Only difference is that its harder to shoot. So you will mainly be using meele and Im really good at it like somethimes I will get better score on phone and not on pc XD. So you just need good phone becouse weaker phones can handle it but it will be dropping on 30, ported apk file of game from internet and also bt or better cable gamepad with usb to C otg cable. And yes cable becouse some conectors wont fit trough phone if you have (damn how its colled) idk protective shell XD. And you have same gameplay as on pc. And allso buy these games and dont be ♥♥♥♥♥ I understand if you steel emulator games becouse they are old and cant be even bought nowdays but this is steam game. Man I love playing on phone you can even play all hl games exclude alyx or re4 or even god of war games.

Its not meant for screen and if you want that you need some game keyboard app or something like that. With one good gamepad it will be normal gameplay.
