Activation key?

Hello fellas, I bought the game on release but I was busy with other games, I now have the time to play it but when I start the game ubisoft connect is asking me for an activation key that is nowhere to be found, how in hell does this crap work?
I have other ubisoft games on steam and I never had this problem before, what in hell is wrong with UbiConnect?
I really wanted to buy this game because I loved the first one and I want to support the devs and show UbiSoft that I will buy their games when they are good and interesting but I'm starting to think I should just have pirated it on my Switch instead...

same for me! I entered my ubisoft connect email and password, checked e-mail but activation code wasn't sent to it... what should I do? request a refund?

Ubisoft, your stupid launchers is such a waste of our time!

Well it eventually worked out after I tried it on my Windows 11 install, it didn't work with the steamdeck or with my linuxmint thinkpad...

Blimey Ubisoft Connect really is an abomination. It's nice that Ubi are, albeit reluctantly and very slowly returning to Steam they really need to incinerate UbiSoft connect and just make regular Steam games like everyone else does. Who wants this rubbish installed on their PC anyway? It is literally pointless, it's just pure friction.

Restart Ubi Connect and launch the game with Connect open.

Yeah well you can't do that on Linux, you can on Windows tho, which is what I did...
