I love retro games but not a huge fan of this one's UI / default key mappings

I've gotten stuck 2-3 times on the menus in this game ? Can you all need to add some on-screen hints on what random keys are bound to the menu options? It would be good to get past the end of round level up screen. Thanks!

Strange, there should always be button tips somewhere on screen to tell you the controls. Which control style are you using? Keyboard & Mouse, Keyboard Only, or Gamepad? Or if you could take a screenshot of the menu that would be handy. :]

I'm trying gamepad (xbox controller wired with usb cable) and once i hit escape i'm stuck in the menus either the popup settings dialog / modal and then the inventory/ weapons slots add ons etc. I can't figure out what key gets me back to gameplay. I'll try and take a screenshot tonight, Thanks!

Ah gotcha thanks for the feedback. Just made a couple of changes so should be easier now (v4.2). :]

- Pressing the Escape key while using a gamepad will no longer set the button tip icons to Keyboard.
- The Status Screen now has a button tip in the top-right for closing the menu.
