Yeah, Hank's shield is stronger and can anticipate moves. But, that also ties Hank up to being a shield bot, where Sunny can be fighting/jetpack boosting. Also, the shield drone's take-damage-first isn't necessarily a bad thing. Heck, I think it is even good when paired with AOE healers like Caira and Slim, since they don't have to worry about a monster focusing down a team member.
Sunny's main gun outperforms Hank's. So what's next? Jetpack boost vs orbital. I will take jetpack boost any day. Orbitals need good setup to get maximum damage. Jetpack is awesome for getting your trapper set up/ get out of monster jaws/ catch up/ etc.
Just my opinion, but I think Sunny is far stronger than Hank. FWIW, I still think Hank is better than the other supports.
Sunny's shield drone is a 'responsive' unit, meaning someone has to take a hit first THEN the drone will respond to the person being attacked. The problem with it if it's a move that can incap a hunter/survivor, the shield drone won't stop that hit. Also, if a target is on the move, Sunny has to re-deploy the shield drone, which takes another couple/few seconds to ready up, and by then a hunter/survivor may be incapped. Hank in my opinion, is still the shield king. A GOOD Hank player will know WHEN to shield, when not to shield, and time his shield clicks to match attacks. Hank is mobile, the shield drone is not, as the attacks move across the map or in a mobile arena, so does Hank.
Sunny and Hank share similar abilties, and while yes, she is a "Hank 2.0" mixed with Cabot's damage, I don't think Hank is out of the picture.
Sunny > Hank by far and if you think otherwise you're just one of those people that tries way to hard to defend this game about really crappy balancing. None of the T4 Hunters are balanced even a little bit.
I am not saying the T4 hunters are balanced, they are FAR from balanced, but hopefully we won't have to wait too long before the devs go "Oh snap, alot of people are irked, let's fix this"
Lot of good that does when the Rock Throw nails you in the face and THEN you get shielded! They break even there in my book :P
Sure the drone is Fire-and-forget but positioning can be a b*tch sometimes. Which, as luck may have it, Sunny has a device capable of making repositioning easier! She has a good kit, but Hank's is good as well... for different pros and cons anyways :D
That's why I like the Hutners so far; they're al so different, even if they share a similar gimmick in some form, their strats with them are vastly different!
