The other things you mentioned im unsure of.
However, this is going to be changing in the upcoming balance patch to make Griffin more useful. The sound spikes will pick up a sneaking monster, but ONLY within 15m of the spike. So a monster can still 'technically' sneak by a spike, but if it does get too close and doesn't know a spike is nearby, then it'll ping.
Glad they at least realize it needs buffing. Though that wont help a whole lot as the monster can still see the spike when they sniff. They will just avoid it no different from avoiding birds.
