Evolve Stage 2

Evolve Stage 2

Anyone else using TimerResolution for a FPS increase?
If you are getting lower than expected FPS, try this:

Download the free version of TimerResolution.exe

http://www.lucashale.com/timer-resolution/

Open it and set to maximum.

Run the game WITHOUT Geforce Experience / AMD Gaming Evolved.

For me this makes the difference between 35 FPS and 60+ FPS on an I7 4790K and R9 290.

Seriously? I heard this program was for people who were GPU strong but lacked the CPU. I am on a 4790K with SLI 980's... I cant even get more then 75FPS @ 1440P... You think this would help?

Apparently there is some timer mixup between the game and Windows.

I saw somewhere on the net that there was a similar problem with one of the Crysis games when it came out.

Give it a shot - I am not sure what it will do with a SLI setup.

I have Windows 8.1 and I am using the free version for Windows XP.

It works for me...

I just wanted to thank the OP.

This app allows me to run the game maxed out at 60+fps on a i7 4470K + GTX 770 4GB. Prior to this, it wouldn't even hit 35fps.

Does this work with other games, or just Cryengine games?

You're welcome - glad it works for you as well.

Evolve currently has some type of timer discrepancy - which is why the timer resolution app makes such a big difference. I am sure they will fix the issue in the next patch.

With most other games I don't see a difference at all.

I've been using this for a while, 8350@4.5 + GTX 970
very high/high+TXAA 35fps without using my timer tool, 80+ fps with it set to 1ms.
TRS dev on the forum said they'll be setting it to always 1ms in next update.

I just tested this quickly and found Zero (0) improvement.
Upon reading the articles about timing resolution, it seems to be saying that putting the timer resolution HIGH (1 or 0.5) will actually HURT your performance.

If this information is wrong, please say so, but also please explain WHY.

How manz FPS do you have?I almost have the same PC with the exeption with videocard (Nvidia GTX 750) and I h ave (outside action) 40- 45 FPS and inside the action I have (depending on how serious the action is) 10-35.
And yeah, this app doesn't help anything at all.
