The answer is money. The game didn't earn enough so the publisher pulled the plug.
Well try to buy it or download the free version. Nuf said.

It will come the time that we'll only have soccer, gta and fps games... Sad
This is a FPS game.

There are still few people who play. I would very much like to be able to play it again as I did at the time it launched. Anyone who wants to set up a group to play today add me, please. :evolve::assault::support::trapper::medic:

I need to buy a new mouse, when I do I'll write here again xD
I rolled back my version from 2.0 to Evolve Legacy; to me that's the best version of this game.

its because of greed nothing else/ the game had great potential! but greed kill it.not even its good loyal community could save it.

you can look online to the countless review about this game.

Oh I've taken a good look in the reviews and 80% of them mumbles same gibberish with 0.8 to -2hours of gameplay, complains about wasting money when they could've REFUND and gain their money back but these intellectually challenged people aren't smart enough to have that privilege.
And then there are those who complains about having an running simulator when again, same intellectually challenged people can't figure out what minimap is and how to logically proceed with such moments and actually cut the path. Then when you take a look into their profile, they mostly play these casual multiplayer games where you don't need braincells but thats where they prefer to settle so it's okay.
The game failed and died because it was destined to be failed due to bad financial policy and crapping on the playerbase, especially the veterans.
The game's core mechanics were solid. However, "I" personally blame 2K for monotizing it way too harshly. Even on release and on pre-ordering, to get extra skins and all that. Even base skins had to be bought. You couldn't earn them. Then the season passes came if you wanted to get new hunters and new monsters, rather than letting the devs put them in for free, or more cheaply.

I consider myself a 'vet' of the game but while I say I prefer the original version of Evolve, I won't tell the 2.0 players to NOT play the game. IF they want to play 2.0, they can play 2.0. For me 'personally', I prefer classic Evolve. The mechanics are the way they are for a reason, to an extent it's meant to appeal to a niche crowd who didn't want it to be too easy, and that's fine.

TL:DR is at the bottom

sadly the reason the game didn't make money is cus the devs went full greed mode and bait and switched everyone at release thus pissing off all their loyal players equating a in a massive swath of negative reviews and low player base at launch.

basically they had a version for pre-order that they said would give you all the future updates for a year for the increased price. they had an open beta like 1-2 months b4 launch where a ton of bugs were found and they promised to have at least most of em fixed by launch. well when game launched none of the bugs where fixed and they had completely re-done the in game $$$ shop to have a bunch of crappy recolor skins and they changed the name of the season pass to hunter pass 1 and already had a preorder for hunter pass 2 witch keeping the season pass one at 30$ was also 30$. and hunter pass 2 was scheduled for release in 3 months (breaking the initial promise of the "season pass(now called hunterpass1)" being for an entire year of updates.). they also included the "exclusive skin"(trust me they went hard in the advertisement that the skinn was very exclusive) was available for purchase in their in-game cash shop witch they also said the game wasn't going to have micro transactions (lets just be glad it was b4 loot-box era cus it would absolutely have had them)

and the best part was none of the bugs from beta were fixed and the excuse they had was they had to make the cash shop from scratch and took all their time (remember this at the time was $60 game and they had initially promised no cash shop) and on top of 0 bug fixes and breaking promis on no cash shop they didn't even have any of the "other game modes" they had promised would be part of the full game yet. so basically the only "new" content from the beta was the cash shop. so because of thre broken promises and strait false advertisement people refunded the game (and when they tried to say you can't refund pre orders they got smacked with a false advertisement lawsuit and had to honor ALL refunds). so massive refunding happened player base dropped to only the thousands and they didnt have the safety net of being an established ip so no die hard fans that would play with a literal pile of ♥♥♥♥ if had 'for example' the star wars logo on it.

TL;DR greedy company broke promises and false advertisement(changing content people already paid for to have less and put a separate price on the content removed).then they set aside bug fixing and including promised new gameplay content to and already 60$ to focus on making a cash shop they originally promised wouldn't be in the game.:steamfacepalm:

Wow, it cleaned my mind about ylthe game. Thank you for this explanation. Basically the programmers did a nice job but the owners were too greedy... Sad.
Yes. The devs were aiming to make this a big competitive thing, to go to E-Sports. Sadly, that didn't come to pass.

Yeah I remember it well, fantastic game, sooo much promise. but there was nothing to the game zero content but sooo much was promised and everything cost extra money suddenly. shame devs couldnt get another publisher.
