HEROES OF MOUNT DRAGON OPENS ITS FIRST CLOSED BETA TO PLAYERS

Indie game studio RuniQ announced the upcoming closed beta for its co-op side-scrolling brawler, Heroes of Mount Dragon. Players interested in participating can sign up for the closed beta now on the Steam page. The closed beta will officially commence on May 1, 2025, at 1 PM EDT until May 12, 2025, at 1 PM EDT.

New Key Features in Closed Beta:

Refined Combat System: Based on player feedback, RuniQ has implemented improvements to combat, ensuring better balanced encounters and the removal of frustrating attack chain interruptions for a smoother and more engaging experience.

Competitive Mode Unlocked: Players can now test their skills against friends in the newly unlocked Competitive Mode! Face off in local or online matches to earn the title of Mount Dragon’s ultimate champion. Utilize a variety of devious curses – electrify, shrink or flip your rivals' controls – to disrupt their gameplay and seize victory.

New Kingdom to Explore – The Elven Sanctuary: Venture into the mysterious and enchanting Elven Sanctuary, a brand-new kingdom teeming with Dark Elves, cunning Witches and lurking Spiders. Discover its secrets and face its formidable inhabitants.

Keep in mind the game is still in development, so you might encounter a few minor bugs or glitches along the way. Please join our Discord to report these issues.

Synopsis: Your premise and art style seem promising but you have some extensive design decisions I think you really need to rework. Pros: I like the character kits. Art style works for the most part. Cons: Combat feels kinda bad compared to other beat em ups I've played. Movement feels laggy. Flowing between certain moves and canceling out of attacks to dodge is okay but certain attack animations feel bad. Especially on the Yellow Dragon guy. Linux - Computer Crash

On the main screen, when I "PRESS START" on the prompt, my computer (on linux) straight up dies, and I need to force shut-down it with the power button.

This is just some impressions I had of the game, without much order to it but just what I remembered thinking after I beat the demo. - The games animations are pretty fun. A lot of character and personality especially with the character's intro. I only played Feneck but I was glad to see facial expression movement as well as squash and stretch.
