YS X: Proud Nordics re-release!

Falcom has announced Ys X: Proud Nordics, a significantly upgraded version of Ys X: Nordics, featuring a new story, new setting, and numerous new elements. It will launch in 2025 in Japan. Platforms were not announced.

So it's a new release, not a simple dlc/update? That sounds pretty greedy tbh, the game literally just came out (at least in the west).
But thank you for sharing, I won't buy this version at all then and wait for the enhanced deluxe ultimate remaster royal edition...

Why would they announce this 2 months after the Western release? It's such a bad look. Kato just passed away, and Kondo is already making terrible business decisions.

I guess the people defending the bad PS2 graphics can all shut up now. This is a pretty big visual upgrade.

Apparently, the Japanese reception of Ys X was rather negative, especially in regards to the graphics and story, hence this re-release.

It seems like the "Proud" version will have an additional island with post-game activities akin to YS 8's post game dungeon. A cool addition but probably not worth it for most people to rebuy a game they bought on release for full price. Too bad this will be another case of "should not have bought it at release".

Any source on this or are you just talking out of your ass? Jrpgs do these "definitive edition with one additional dungeon a year after original launch" releases. YS8 being another notable example, but that one only appeared on steam as the enhanced edition already. Another one I remember was Fairy Fencer it happened to.

Absolute scum bag move unless there is an upgrade path that is very close to 100% off but I doubt we’ll get anything higher than 20-30%. Has permanently put a sour taste in my mouth from this developer. I will refrain from anything more til I see how NIS America handles this
