Playtest 0.2.0 Is Now Live!

Changelog Version 0.2.0

- New Mac and Linux builds for testing purposes
- Map now displays the player direction for better navigation
- Added introductory letter to the starting inventory
- Upgraded map icons for the player, huts, plants, standing torches and cats
- Increased the density of items in all biomes by 10 to 30%
- Sunset/sunrise transitions are now 7x slower, giving a more natural look
- Player can now build their own chests inside huts
- Added chocolate as a consumable item sold in shops
- Some sweet recipes now contain chocolate as an ingredient
- Reduced market value of fairy dust by 50%
- Reduced market value of ores and ingots by 25%
- Minor adjustments to the market value of ancient artifacts
- Reduced negative health effect of pizzas
- Reduced daily chance of rain from 36 to 30%
- Stats frame around the screen is now darker to better blend with the game
- Scrolls and water buckets can now be sold at the shops
- Taming cats now plays an unique sound effect
- Cats and furniture are no longer attacked by spiderwebs
- Broom attack and cooldown reduced to fall in line with other tools
- Destroying wells and furnaces now give more resources
- Damage screen effect now displays less often when one of your stats reaches 0
- Tooltips now only display within 3 meters from the target
- Updated description of some craftable items
- Improved skirt physics
- Minor UI improvements

Bug Fixes

- Fixed an issue where the furnace would not load properly
- Tamed cats no longer wander too far when told to stay
- Untamed cats no longer wander too far from the spawning position
- Player no longer stops sleeping without player input
- Fixed a bug where bears and boars would attack players in chill mode
- Fixed an issue where cats could not enter or exit huts
- Fixed an issue where cats in wander state would not load their position properly
- Minor fixes and adjustments

Known Bugs

- A very small chance of the player getting stuck on a loop while opening doors
- A very small chance that the player cannot use tools

Saving and loading will solve both issues while we investigate further.

there is absolutely no pinecones in this game? I also got stuck opening and reopening a door to the point I had to start over.

NPC Relations System & General Improvements

Changelog Version 0.1.8

- New NPC relations system, affected by your actions
- New and improved use tool and crafting animations
- Added 2 enchanted trees to the Enchanted Forest and Swamp biomes
- Upgraded map, now displays wells, logs, pumpkins and large rocks
- Increased interact range by 25% so it's easier to pick up items
- Added coin bags to NPC houses, chests and townhall building
- Added sound effects for starting and completing NPC quests
- Cooldown period for using tools greatly reduced
- Damage with tools reduced by 50% to compensate for the lower cooldown
- Tool spoilage rate adjusted so it lasts the same as before
- Increased speed of the deer running animation by 17%
- Slightly increased camera field of view to show more of the world
- Added an unique stinger to the start of the game
- Added tooltip in the main menu explaining Chill World mode
- Oats updated with an improved mesh and icon
- Updated eye creature, sunflower and note sound effects
- Minor UI improvements

Bug Fixes

- Fixed random sounds playing at the start of the game
- Fixed firewood disappearing when dropped
- Fixed tents refusing to be placed properly
- Tents, barrels and campfires are no longer attacked by spiderwebs
- Deer no longer can fly around rocks
- Sleep is no longer interrupted by opening UI panels
- Camera no longer bumps near the ground
- Added missing HP bar for crystals
- Minor fixes and adjustments

Flying, Map System & Quests Update

Changelog Version 0.1.6

- Flying and crafting a wagon is now enabled!
- New map system with fog showing huts, campfires, torches, cats and NPCs
- Added 6 new tutorial quests
- A new quest for each NPC vendor (3 total)
- Added a "fine" version of 4 tools, which lasts 3x longer
- Crafting basic tools no longer require an anvil
- Added advanced book of tools
- Pots and wheels are now craftable
- New broom flying animation and improved controls
- Added scroll to craft a key to open the witch tower
- Better pet (cat) behavior with several new animations
- Harvested logs now provide firewood instead of planks
- Firewood can be further cut down to obtain planks
- Added 2 new fancy food types
- Honey and cheese wheel are now craftable
- Boars, bears and deers now have optimized AI pathing
- Chill mode now has non-aggressive boars and bears (unless provoked)
- New idle animations for several animals and creatures
- Added signposts and other scenery to some biomes
- Added many sound effects for animals and creatures
- Added new furniture to the townhall building
- Added toys in some abandoned houses
- Shops no longer sell fabric and planks to incentivize crafting

- Massive optimization effort, reducing total poly count by 25%
- Average frames per second improved by about 35%
- All icons were upgraded with a higher quality version

Playtest feedback

Started a new game. Issue with ESC not exiting menus is on Journal. ESC just flips you back and forth between Journal and Menu. No idea which items are interactable and which are not. E.g., first quest to gather Sticks. I go to a shrub that's leafless and is basically just a bunch of sticks but cannot interact with it. So what does a "stick" look like in the game when stick-like objects are not sticks? While looking for a stick, a wolf runs up, attacks me, runs off. It keeps doing this. There is nothing...
