There shouldn't be a cap on how many relics you can equip.
Now I don't mean the "Slots" you can upgrade around the game and in the shop, but the total number of equipped relics. This wasn't an issue in Ender Lilies, which let you equip as many as you could, but in Ender Magnolias we get only 10 actual relics equipped. Out of 50 actual "slots"

This is frankly absurd, especially since this means that, on average, if every relic isn't at least 5 cost it's wasting space. Considering we have, what 2 relics, with more than 5 cost and 2 with 5 cost [Post upgrades] it's impossible to take advantage of those 50 total slots.

This would also make the upgrades that reduce relic slot cost actually useful in the long run and maybe make Declan's ring less of a 100% pick . . .

Yea i prefer having limited relic slot rather than limit how many relic you can equip, but i guess its for balancing since you can stack relics with the same effect making it really strong.

Well, more realistically you're going to have around 30 by the end of the game so it pretty balanced in that respect. Maybe they could add something to the craftory to buy for NG+ so the cap can go up to 12 or something. Probably not though.

50 slots is practically impossible without Cheat Engine or extreme grinding. Realistically, most people will finish the game with 25-ish slots.

I mean It's mostly weird to me that they cut down on the max Relic Count from 14 to 10, but then upgraded the "Slots" from 20 to 50.

Sure you probably will only have ~35 of them from competing the game, but those who grind or when NG+ gets added will get to those 50 slots. Which is actually Impossible to fill out after upgrading everything.

I guess I just find it weird that the increase our "slots" by 250%, but decreased max relics equitable by 40%. I means that by the end the "cost" of a relic is meaningless because their individual cost eventually becomes a moot point.

don't see the issue here to be honest. many players including myself finished the game even before 1.03 nerfed some difficult elements like the rats.

i'd say many relics are rather situational. if you struggle with a boss that doesn't feature a stamina bar, you can skip break related relics and focus on bracelets, and help, with a stronger defense and use relics that do more damage the lower your health. for bosses with a stamina bar, take the relics which makes you do more break damage and regain magic faster so you can spam more ultimates. and for the casual environmental play take relics to gain more ressources.

i'd only like to see a few more equipable slots once they release NG+ and maybe increase difficult meters (not the on/off elements) by maybe 2-4 slots. for my 100% playthrough though, i maxed all skills, bought all equips, gotten all artwork and skins and only lacked the final relic points to be bought in the shop, a grind i saw no need for.

I can't be the only one who looked at the ring and said "Meh...", right?

I mean I get it, spam Pressure abilities and break the game, but that sounds like a snoozefest to me personally.

It's definitely MUCH weaker than in Ender Lilies. Like half the effect, with much stricter activation requirements and double cost. It's still very nice to get a HP trickle back, and I've found you end up with a lot more HP when using it than when not.

Problem is that, as I mentioned, you will hit a point where it's 8 cost doesn't matter. Number of relics equipped eventually becomes the limiting factor, not the "slot cost".

Yeah, assume you use the literally worse relic in the game. Getting 0.5% of damage dealt, rounded down, back as HP is useless. Like IIRC only Lito and Nola (maybe No 9 with his Charge) do enough damage per hit to actual make it work.

It only takes about 2-3 hours or so to grind from an end-game level to max everything (level 100, shop cleared out, all extras bought). Not really an extreme grind or practically impossible. I just turned on a movie and did the grinding in the background

The way I did it was get ending A normally with my normal endgame stuff, then grinded to max everything and set all the difficulty sliders to max before doing ending B, so both the boss and Lilac were at their max potential

I’m hoping NG+ lets us use scrap to further upgrade relics to ++ versions with increased effects, but add slots to the equip cost. Then we could actually take advantage of the 50 slots and it would give people something actually grind for in NG+.

I wouldn't say that.
A level 100 grind with 17 million EXP will take at least 4-5 hours with Blighted Dice+...

I wouldn't say that.
A level 100 grind with 17 million EXP will take at least 4-5 hours with Blighted Dice+...
Didn't take me that long (starting from level 70-75 or so I think)

I recommend doing the Empyrean Parasol Interior route, only doing the main path without side branches or going for the breakables at the end (since chasing primarily EXP will get you almost all the materials you need anyways, and if you need a few extra materials at the end you can just AFK farm for those)

If you're using attuner arts to clear the screen, the route goes by very fast. Getting to lv 100 took about one 2h40m movie for me
