Endings
I finished the game for the first time, and I'm wondering whether I could have handled things better.

*I got Erritis' audience to calm down a bit, but in the epilogue he still wound up adventuring himself to death.
*Callistige just announced that she wouldn't seek immortality after all. I never noticed any kind of hook to do anything about her storyline.
*Rhin just stayed with the party, and in the epilogue she travelled with my character. There was never a prompt to send her back home.
*And my Glaive let the Changing God's daughter be ressurrected, at the cost of all the Castoffs. Which bummed me out, but seemed like the only justifiable choice.

Just what did I overlook?

there are a lot of ways to complete and play the game. Just restart a new one. I am in my 3rd and always see new outcomes. The reactivity in this game is insane!

Each companion character has two or three endings.

You can help Erritis and Callistige get their good endings when you find them stuck in the labrynth, and send Rhin home in the Bloom

Hm. I never did find them in the Labyrinth.

You probably need to have done some key parts of their story beforehand, such as having Callistige with you in the Changing Gods secret base under the cliffs and giving her the book you find plus maybe a couple of conversation points that come up later, and having Erritis with you in valley of dead heroes and taking the shepherds stick from the first alcove plus finding out how to help him by talking to people in the Bloom about it

A lot of the endings depend on who you have in your party when you face the First Castoff.

If you have fulfilled their conditions, you can decide what to do wtih Erritis and Callistege if they are with you in the End. Final chapter for Tybir's story is also dependant on whether you have him or not when meeting the First.

Rhin ends up differently depending on when you send her away if you send her away at all.
Matkina is an exception in that she will always be in the final dungeon(don't know if she will be if the sorrow kills her off). Matkina's story also changes depending on how you treat her during the game. There are few interactions with her in the game especially in Miel Avest where you have to be nice to her, and generally follow the path of mercy. The achievment guide in here has a lot of the conditions "good" outcomes.

One of the numenera wiki's also says what you have to do for the companions to get the outcomes you want.

Take into consideration one thing - Last Castoff may be the original Changing God, that got amnesia from the fall. If that's the case then the whole game gets deeper, at least for me.

If the game is not about reshaping things that your "father" had created but about seeing what you have done then it is truly worth a second gameplay. Even more worth after just realising this fact after beating the game for the first time.
