Achievment : A God in Human Skin
I was wondering if anyone knows the sequence of events needed to acquire this acheivement. It isn't by absorbing the castoffs into yourself, because I've done that already. Possibly its the result of one way you can resolve the final confrontation with the Specter?

i'm currently trying to get this. I think you have to convince everyone you ARE the changing god. before the end. Using every option from the start to open up some ending dialogue. Its a logn shot but it makes sense as i actually do think you are the changing god in the story and not a castoff.

Yes, I've read some of your posts in other threads.

I'm doing essentially the same thing, telling everyone I'm the Changing God at every opportunity. I was just rewarded with Aligern demanding that I admit its the truth, and not just me using the name to open doors. I consider that progress.

Nice one, lets hope between us we can stumble on it :) keep us updated.

I didn't pick Aligern as i used him last play through which might be a mistake. But i did say to him i was the God.

I picked up tidal surge from the slaver. Which also might be a mistake as the assumption is you wouldn't need to be taught anything if you are a god. (however i feel the abliity migth be needed later for something God like. )

When i got to the Changing Gods chamber with Callistege. I have no options to say it is mine or i am the God. So i might be screwed already.

The women that sells secrets the only option to say i'm a God has the (lie) next to it.

In the order of truth i can tell Min that the order was founded by the guy in the clock ( Divitiacu ) or the changing god - i didnt press this option as i makes me sound like not the god? maybe i should.

But i conviced for certain

Algern (just say yes!)
The Cultists (pass the clock exam and answer their questions)
Council Clerk ( found an option to tell him that i made him)
Sigyn (Don't ask about the building and she still assumes you are still the same person)
Salimeri (Ask her why she needs your help to get in the house and she says you are)
Imbitu (i think? I let them eat me)
Sylph (pass her quiz)

I haven't unlocked the achievement but I think you may be right.
One of the possible outcomes during the dialogue with the Spectre is to merge with it, which requires having Blue and Silver as your dominant Tides.

Blue AND Silver? That seems incredibly specific. Where did you get that information?

I think it was on reddit.

Edit:

There you go: https://www.reddit.com/r/Torment/comments/5wtei3/a_god_in_human_skin_achievement/
I stumbled on this while looking for info on Merecasters.

@ DarkSpiral

All credits go to Longes at reddit, I'm just quoting him.

Update: two conditions need to be met.

1. You need to have Blue/Silver as your dominant tide.
2. You need to learn in the right mere that the Spectre is an AI built to house the Changing God's memories.

With that you can convince the Spectre that he's not the real Changing God and that you would be a better Changing God than he is.

Damn is that ever specific. I'll have to watch my dialogue choice very carefully.

This is the dialogue and tides of my frist run. But i wasn't saying i saw a god? So is that needed too or did i miss something in the text? Damn i think i could have done. oops.

It's really hard to do it, unless you reload all the time. On my first walkthrough, I only chose what I considered to be right for me, with very little knowledge of the world around me, my dominant Tides were Blue and Silver somewhere in the middle of the game, and full Blue at the end.

That happened with no help from other players' comments, etc. Now, that I know what happens in the end, who truly my Castoff is, and that I missed one merecaster, I have even greater difficulty to shift the dominant Tides for the said achievement - and I hate reloading for that reason alone.

When in the gmae do you confront the Ai again? i cant remember?
BlackKanda Mar 6, 2017 @ 4:58pm
You confront the Spectre two times, but I believe the achievement is related to the second, and final confrontation, before descending to the Resonance Chamber.

So, if you have a save around that point, and you are absolutely certain your dominant Tides are *both* Blue and Silver, then retry the dialogue options, and you'll get it.

I get why it's Blue and Silver now. The Changing God's tides are blue and silver. In the final merecaster, when the Sorrow catches him, his "tattoo blazes, as if it's tearing open, an onslaught of the Tides - all in blue and silver".
