Ugly female protagonist > portrait and character model
Edit2: The OP is based on the original female (and male) portrait:

I only started Torment and I think I have played through the tutorial (Im back in th real world?). Until now I had no option to change the ugly, almost disgusting portrait and character of my female protagonist. Does that come at a later point? Looks like Half-shaved and aged Paris Hilton.

I know Torment 1 featured an undead protagonist with not the best looks, but even he had full hair. Also his look made sense back then and more importantly was fitting into the storyline.

After the tutorial I encountered a woman with red hair. She looked old but agreeable. Id change to this look anytime.

Also the male protagonist looks agreeable. Like a young man that grew up in harsh conditions. I could very well imagine this character for any of the three classes. Like an agile fighter, an observant thief or even a powerful mage.

In my opinion the ugly female character model and portrait offers no character options at all and doesnt fit into the line of other highly distinguishable characters. Id never want such a person to be the leader of my party. Its like having to play Planescape Torment with just a common thug on the streets as a main protagonist. All of the Planescape Torment characters had a unique personality and a fitting look for them.

I highly urge the developers to find a fitting character model and portrait for the female Torment 2 protagonist. The current character model and portrait is not fitting at all.

the models itself are terrible. their postures are identical and unnatural.

also they should make at least hairstiles changeable. I really hate that main character look
Nameless one had more hair. The tattoo should be way more subtle, if it should be placed on the head in the first place. The left and right part of the face have different features that leads me to believe the character was glued together from two humans the Frankenstein way.

I find the right, feminine part, to be agreeable though. Its just has no matching left part and the tattoo and shaved part is dominant instead of subtle. In the case of a male, a bith shaven and tattooed head is not nearly as bad as with a female.

In my opinion the right part of the face should be copied over the left part and the Tatoo should both be reduced in size and moved to a more subtle region of the body, like on the back or the arm as with the Nameless one from Torment 1. It could also be placed on the side of the neck.

The main character art is more than questionable.
It plainly sucks.

You want to make a female character with shaved haircut and tattoos that stands out? This is how its done:

That abomination we have right now is plain not ready to go.
I wonder if devs find it in their their hearts to accept this and actually do something about it.
I was appalled too. The facial features of the female portrait are actually not that bad... the real turn-off for is the character model that looks like a fat cow who's permanently half-hunched with bent knees, clad in a weird spacesuit. This strange choice in aesthetics has truly traumatised me and I do hope the gameplay will make up for it. (like other people in the discussion said previously, this is 2017, maybe they should realise that ugliness doesn't warrant depth??!)

Looking forward to waifu MOD's at the same time. (for both portrait and character model) LOL
In my opinion, the worst part is the hairstyle. Sure the model is not the best, but I can get over the graphic and models if the game itself is good. Strangely though, the concept art has the female cast-off bald / shaven, and it looks much better, especially with the tatoo.

Wow, I totally agree. That pic is perfect and if it was a preset for the femal castoff in Numenera I would immediately chose it.
Again, all the characters look like total ♥♥♥♥. They should have just had an obscure, otherworldly looking character like Nameless One from PST and a female variation of that. WL 2 also had God awful portraits across both sexes so don't get your hopes up. Thankfully I'm sure people will mod in portraits/characters you'll find suitable, which should be fairly easy to do too since this game uses Unity which is incredibly easy to mod.

I just want to add that now that I've seen what the female protagonist looks like from all those youtube videos, she makes me wanna puke.
I remember there being some rumours about the protagonist changing their appearance during the game. Was it ever confirmed, or is it just the armor that changes?

Hey, they are still working on the portrait. She looks better in the new patch and the half shorn look is visible among the college kids in Austin.

where am i? am i dead? is this it?
Ugliest character ever, worse than the already ugly characters in westland 2.
The portrait is dark haired btw but the 3D is a red head... SAD!
InXile seems to have a weird obsession with amazing background and locations, but terrible portrait art and character models. Wasteland 2 was just the worst. All of the portraits seemed to have come from different DeviantArt galleries. All of them clashing with each other and none of them matching the models.

For a game based on the fluid nature of changing bodies they sure were unflexible and uninspired when it came to character customization. I mean this is the most recent culmination of the Changing God's body evolution?
People these days have expectations and requirements, what a bunch of kids. Can't you take what you are given and shut up?

Everything about the portraits and characters themselves are just ugly. Most of the effort definitely went into the environments in the graphics department thats for sure.

In the original they have a distinct, unique look and they each animate seperately. The only problem is obviously the low resolution textures.

If they didn't have the blue marker at the feet i would certainly have trouble telling them apart from regular NPC's. Its hilarious that in 2017 i cant even say they are better designed than in 1999 washed out bland colours each having the same blocky pose just poor all around.
