Best companions for a glaive
I'm currently near the start of the game. My character is melee with a bit of talking (stats 8-6-6). Now I have Callistege, Tybir and Rhin, but I also want to try walking with Erritis and Matkina. Is a melee party (well, except Rhin) possible in this game?

"Best" would be Tybir for his conversation skills, one of the mages, and possibly Ooom who can give you armor or Rhin for extra healing, so you already have that.

You can take out whoever you want, though healing will be expensive.
Tbh ranged is kind of useless unless your party is somehow super slow walkers, and some like the whatever the lightning gun is called don't do much damage and aren't even that long range. Most weapons are melee and do more damage anyway, and besides the game is loaded with cyphers most of which have range.

The real issue is party ability. I'd suggest not using Erritis if you're going Glave. Aligern can easily fill the tank role anyway and you're going to need lots of other intellect pools. Plus the odd game mechanics make it so there's really no training difference between ranged and melee except the largely irrelevant melee and ranged bonus stats along with the medium/heavy/light weapon stats. It's more important whether you're using speed or might based weapons combat wise in which case you can just switch them out mid combat. Oh yeah, and you can equip/unequip weapons and shields throughout combat btw so you can just switch between say a buzz gun and dagger as combat goes on.

I've already finished the game, but thanks.
