Any similar game ?
Hello guys, so i really loved that game, and now i am trying to find similar ones.
I don't want any "diablo or baldurs gate like" since this game is not like that.
I tried to see Stasis, Seven the days long gone, or such, but i didn't like those.
Not similar enough to Torment: Tides of Numenera :/
Thanks for any suggestion.

Dininity Original Sin 2, a little. It is certainly more combat focussed but it is also a game wherein the unusual is not uncommon - gambling skeletons, friendly dragons, witches brewing immortality, etc. - and there is a lot to discover if you like just learning about the world.

Naturally, my first recommendation, though, would be Planescape: Torment, but I can't imagine you haven't played that game yet - and if somehow you haven't, get on that! (though the gameplay is admittedly a bit dated)

If you like the surreal, I'd point you toward the "American McGee's Alice" games and, to a lesser extent, "Doki Doki Literature Club".

Thanks a lot for your answer eheh, well actually i must admit i didn't play Planespace Torment yet.
I was thinking it was maybe a little old?
The way you say it, ring a bell to me and i think i will take that one then ^^
Edit: oh wait after i watched a video of it, i think it's too much like diablo/baldurs gate.
I don't really like those :-(

Well, Diablo and Baldur's gate are nothing alike; BG is a roleplaying game, Diablo is a hack 'n slash game. Planescape Torment is widely considered the best computer roleplaying game ever written, it is the game which inspired this one and which this one often falls short of.

The fighting system is basically the same.
It is definetly not the same as Torment: Tides of Numenera.
I am looking for a game similar, being story rich, and with the same kind of fighting system.
In both diablo and baldur's gate, you just trow your attack in "real time".
Torment is turn based.
Diablo and baldur's gate are mostly the same in that combat system.
Same as Planescape, even if it inspired Torment: tides of Numenera i do not like it for that reason.

I believe in both Baldur's Gate and PS:T the combat can be paused at the end of each round, automatically, you just have to set that up in your settings menu. (in fact, I believe you can set them up to pause after each time you get hit, hit someone else, cast a spell, etc. Their pause system was very versatile) But, to each their own.

Yep, that is not what i am looking for.

Your loss for not playing the good Torment.

I played the good one.
All is relative.

Pillars of Eternity, Tyranny, Planescape
But Tides of Numenera is the best :steamhappy:

But how do you know if you won't even try Planescape?

Right lol, but i watched a video gameplay of Planetscape, and the combat system is definetly not for me.
That is why i have this opinion.

Hmm... from what I can understand, you're looking for RPG with good story + turn based combat + weird settings. If that is the case, I can suggest any RPG game made by Jeff Vogel (Spiderweb Software). You can do search on Steam for Geneforge or Avernum. The art looks dated by now (it's still isometric) but the gameplay makes up for it. With those games, there's tons of texts to read + lots of choices.

Not quite as weird, but the Shadowrun games by Harebrained Schemes are excellent and have good XCOM-style turn-based combat. Personally I think Dragonfall is the best, but I’d still recommend playing all three in order if you can.

Hi, I cannot stress enough that the original PS:T is literally one of the best games ever written. This one? I played for about 9 hours. PS:T even got remastered recently. I know the combat isn't the best - it wasn't then either but you can actually avoid most of the combat. Or just get through it using the space bar (plus I think you can customise it to auto pause so it's kind of turn based anyway)

I'm not joking, this game is a shadow of it's former self. It's barely an 'option' compared. Maybe it's nostalgia a little, or I'm burnt out on this style of game. But consider this: I completed PS:T, Baldurs Gate 1 & 2, Fallout 1 & 2 & tactics (plus new ones but beside the point) Icewind dale 1 & 2, wasteland 2 and any other similar game type like shadowrun etc multiple times. But I couldn't even bring myself to finish this one in the end. I'll do it eventually.

Please, I don't think you will regret it! Similarities between PST and BG are due to the same engine being used. Actual content and gameplay are very much different. Although BG has good story lines also.

You spend 95% of your time in Planescape: Torment talking to people and exploring the world, just like you do in Tides. The combat is real time, yes, but the game itself is absolutely nothing like Diablo, which is the inverse, 95% mindlessly clicking on things to fight them. If you don't play PS:T for yourself, you will be missing out on the game most like Tides in the world. Literally. If you need more persuading, instead of watching a "gamplay" video ("gameplay" is often equated to combat by people), watch the beginning of a Let's Play. If I remember correctly, I didn't fight anyone at all during the entire first hour or two in the Mortuary where you start.

Btw, unlike a few of the other posters, I'm not going to try to sell you on PS:T by calling Tides a pale imitation or anything like that. I loved them both.
