Naturally, my first recommendation, though, would be Planescape: Torment, but I can't imagine you haven't played that game yet - and if somehow you haven't, get on that! (though the gameplay is admittedly a bit dated)
If you like the surreal, I'd point you toward the "American McGee's Alice" games and, to a lesser extent, "Doki Doki Literature Club".
I was thinking it was maybe a little old?
The way you say it, ring a bell to me and i think i will take that one then ^^
Edit: oh wait after i watched a video of it, i think it's too much like diablo/baldurs gate.
I don't really like those :-(
It is definetly not the same as Torment: Tides of Numenera.
I am looking for a game similar, being story rich, and with the same kind of fighting system.
In both diablo and baldur's gate, you just trow your attack in "real time".
Torment is turn based.
Diablo and baldur's gate are mostly the same in that combat system.
Same as Planescape, even if it inspired Torment: tides of Numenera i do not like it for that reason.
All is relative.
But Tides of Numenera is the best
But how do you know if you won't even try Planescape?
That is why i have this opinion.
Hi, I cannot stress enough that the original PS:T is literally one of the best games ever written. This one? I played for about 9 hours. PS:T even got remastered recently. I know the combat isn't the best - it wasn't then either but you can actually avoid most of the combat. Or just get through it using the space bar (plus I think you can customise it to auto pause so it's kind of turn based anyway)
I'm not joking, this game is a shadow of it's former self. It's barely an 'option' compared. Maybe it's nostalgia a little, or I'm burnt out on this style of game. But consider this: I completed PS:T, Baldurs Gate 1 & 2, Fallout 1 & 2 & tactics (plus new ones but beside the point) Icewind dale 1 & 2, wasteland 2 and any other similar game type like shadowrun etc multiple times. But I couldn't even bring myself to finish this one in the end. I'll do it eventually.
Please, I don't think you will regret it! Similarities between PST and BG are due to the same engine being used. Actual content and gameplay are very much different. Although BG has good story lines also.
Btw, unlike a few of the other posters, I'm not going to try to sell you on PS:T by calling Tides a pale imitation or anything like that. I loved them both.
