Glaive double attack?
hi,

i remeber from class trailer that Glaive as only one class can attack twice in one turn, is it correct? or that is not implemented?

also does jack can choose weapon skills while he/she rises in skills ?

I have not finished the game yet, and my main is a nano. However, I do have Erritis (glaive) in my group and he does not have a double attack. I just leveled him up to tier 3, and one of the abilities that I could pick for him was a cleave type ability (using D&D terminology) that gives a followup attack on an enemy in range after a kill.

I have mainly been playing glaive through early access and now still in launch. I have (sadly) NEVER seen this ability to attack twice in a turn or any kind of double attack. It would be very deceptive to call it double attack or ability to attack twice in a turn...BUT...there is that kinda "overwatch" type ability you get right off the bat, and I am not sure, but if two enemies were to walk into your view while this ability was set, you may get to attack twice...but again...that would not even be during your turn it would be during the enemie's turn. SO, I dunno what the hell happened to the concept of glaive being the only class able to attack twice...unless I am missing something or it is only available later way up the tier line. I am still taking my time in Sagus and have not made it past the early access content in the official launch, we shall see.

Jack and Nano both have access to weapon skills through descriptors, but I think that is the only way (I assume that is how the NPC Jack's get them).

ahh got it, well thaks mate for your time, i think i will take chance with jack. im playing might glaive but damn, it looks like glaives are more tanks than dmg dealers, that not exactly what i want for my alter ego ;)

Naaaah man, try a SPEED glaive...my glaive is ranged based and speed based with some stealth in the mix for sneak attacks. I'm still only in Sagus, but I have this light rifle looking weapon that is energy based. Speed Glaive allll the way, with only a bit of might for HP.
When I just started the game I had the lowest initiative you can have though and that sucked...but after the first lvl up I was able to equalize that.

range is not my pair of boots, more like melee, that why i thinking about melee jack, as it has infuse skill? also the one with aoe, i think that makes jack speed > glaive speed, but i just left city, so a lot more before me

Ah, okie i gotcha. And yeah, I would be sure that jacks have more dmg potential, was just saying that if built right, glaives do not have to be tanky at ALL...they can be stealthy ranged dmg dealers easily. I already, with only one lvl up, have 1 dot in ranged AND light weapons plus my armor that increases dmg from weapon attacks by 10%, sitting at an extra 55% to attacks with my current weapon.

Also, infuse skill is only really going to be useful in a handful of situations...it just gives you access to differening dmg TYPES. Types are really only useful when enemies have some buff or such that soaks some kinda dmg. Plus, the awesomest jack in the game is Matkina and she has this ability as well. Matkina is probably my favorite companion...for sure...then Callistege..or as Erritis would say..."CALLISTEGES." God, I love them all...Erritis is friggin hilarious...and somewhat...innocent..not even realizing the "glow" about him.

Rhin is pretty cool when you get her to tier 2 with her heal skill, anyway, yeah i know im thinking about speed melee glaive but speed based weapons need more effort for dmg and hit chance, maybe that why only glaive has hit chance skills as heavy weapons do not need much effort, and speed with each effor will get both dmg and hit... also infuse, im findind it quite useful. i have seen that my Matkina did 24 dmg with light weapon (normal attack not crit) while my char did 13 :) so i started to thinking

ahh, good to know. I am very curious about heavy ranged guns later in game and hope they are interesting as I prolly wanna use them as aposed to light or...maybe even medium weapons.

Well, the double attack thing with a glaive does in fact exist. It is called "successive attack." When you kill an enemy, immediately make a bonus attack against the nearest enemy in range without moving, applies to both melee and ranged attacks. I unlocked this skill on Erritis when he reached tier 3. I am a glaive as well, but ranged as apposed to melee like Erristis, but man, this skill would be awesome for ranged use. I am still only tier 2, but I REALLY hope this will be an option for my glaive at some point as well. It seems that some of my companions obtain certain skills that appear to not be available to the player, I could be wrong, and hopefully at least this is not the case with successive attacks as this was an advertised skill for glaives in the class videos Inxile released prior to launch.
I will report back when and if player is able to obtain this skill.
meh...I am still in Sagus btw...literally just have the bar left to do then i'm out...finally. But...with there only being 4 tiers total...good lord...Erritis is almost max tier already and still in Sagus..the tier system could have been a bit more fleshed out or whenever you tier up make the experience to lvl up increase for each part of the next tier...or there is too much experience to be had in Sagus alone...what will I like forward to when every character is max tier and only halfway through the game =/
