Stuck in Chiurgeon's Slump

Came in through the entrance and there's a merc blocking my way. when I try to click within the slump it either comes up with a red cross or has the message 'Unreachable'. Is there a quest for me to finish or is it bugged out? I've finished the quests in all other areas

The 2 merc guards are supposed to intercept you as soon as you move in the cave and before the bridge, to speak with you, nothing is happening?

Nope, nothing like that ever happened. When I came into the area, they were just standing there. Now when I speak to them, there's only a box above their head that says something like "I hope you're here to see the chirgeons, they're in need of more customers"

I got past the bug by clicking on the "memory seller" upstairs. The pathing lets you bypass the guards.

I moved as close to the bridge as I could, that allowed me to trigger the interaction
