Favorite Tide?
For those who have played beta, which tide have you had the most fun with? I'm planning on several playthroughs, but I thought I'd ask to get the best experience for my first playthrough.

I'm assuming gold and purple tides if you want to roleplay your traditional bleeding heart do-gooder hero, though those two tides do have their differences.

Blue tide if you want to get more in depth with the lore of the world.

Red tide if you want to be an anti-hero or an act first, think later type of character. Or if you want to get into more combat probably.

Silver tide sounds interesting, since I don't think I've ever played through any RPG with the sole intent of becoming a legendarily famous celebrity for the ages. Sounds fun, though I can see how such a character might end up becoming a complete jerk. The only thing about silver is that...well it's the nature of most RPG's that the character you play as will inevitably become well known anyway. Save the world and all that. Which would kind of make focusing on silver somewhat redundant.

Sounds like I'm leaning towards silver, since I've done the red, gold, and purple in other RPG's. Silver with a little blue so I can get into the lore sounds good for a first playthrough. Anyway, just thought I'd ask to see if others had a blast with other tides or were disappointed by others.

im not sure, the Blue tide felt pretty dominant due to the fact that at first you really want to know whats going on. I havent played in a while though so there is that.
Two things with the Silver Tide. Firstly; you won't be saving the world in this, main antagonist appears to be the Sorrow and it's only interested in the Changing God and the Castoffs. It's no threat to anyone else. Similar to Planescape: Torment; you weren't saving the Planes, you were saving yourself. Even just what's in the beta, you're not doing anything truly impressive on the scale you might be thinking of in a traditional RPG - in Pillars of Eternity, for instance, you can decide the fate of Gilded Vale (the first town you reach in the game) by how you handle the local lord. The Last Castoff doesn't do anything even close to that in Sagus Cliffs.

Second thing; if you want an example of what sort of character would be coming to the Silver Tide, Kamina in Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann would probably be a mix of Red and Silver - he's certainly got the passion and "act first" attitude of the Red Tide and his desire to make the name of Team Gurren known far and wide is certainly Silver.

EDIT: As for me; Gold and Blue, actually. Gold for just doing the right thing, Blue because I love to find out more about the setting and I actually value knowledge like that in real-life.

With inXile being secretive about what they removed in the final version. Who knows whats in and whats out.

In the end.... The only ones getting trolled will be people like you when the rumored cut contents turns out to be true.

And then all of you will running for the nearest hole to bury your heads under.

Tides are there and working in the current build - not to mention they're right there in the title and are a major aspect of the Changing God's research - so claiming that they've been cut doesn't quite hold as much water as other claims.

I'm yet to find out will it be Silver or Blue dominant at the end of my first playthrough.

Gold and blue. I reallly like to complete quests, and this generally means that you wil help NPC's and get some gold tide points. But this ends when the choice is about knowledge vs humanism, blue always wins. But I think that most fun with this game you can get pursuing red tide.
