The developers know there are performance issues on most other machines. At the moment crypticsea has optimized Sub Rosa for his machine so it does run fine on his machine, but just because a program runs fine on one computer, no guarantee it will run fine on everything else perfectly, at all.

In the changelog for Alpha 24b[crypticsea.blogspot.com], it is written:
One of the main changes is the engine, ... I know one thing people are going to ask about is optimization, now that the engine is mostly complete I'll be working on benchmarking tools (so I can tell what's running slowly on different PCs) and implement the ideas I have for improving the rendering.

So unfortunately, you're gonna have to just wait it out for a performance upgrade. Keep in mind Sub Rosa is in Early Access and is not complete. Hang in there.

Thanks for the reply i will just excited to play it
It works reasonably well on my 560M so it's pretty weird that it's that slow for you. Make sure your graphics drivers are up to date. Experiment with both sub rosa's graphics options (multithreading, AO) and the graphics options for the game in the nvidia control panel.

Yeah, I have a gtx 760 on an i5 and get around 30fps most of the time at 1280x1024 with FXAA on. Most speed I've gained is by disabling all the msaa stuff I had set in the nVidia control panel and reducing resolution. but yeah, it's pretty bad.

Disable occlusion, enable cpu affinity, and set your resolution to 800x600 or lower. Hopefully that helps a bit in the meantime while we wait for thus benchmarking stuff

did it still 7-10 fps

Hmm.. Have you forced the game to use the nVidia chip instead of the integrated graphics in the nVidia control panel? Sometimes laptops will default to the built in chip on the i3/i5/i7. What does it say in the video settings panel of Sub Rosa?

I just turned on the steam fps display and I'm getting about 25 fps maximum. Using windows 10 and a GTX 760 at 1280x1024, I've enabled FXAA but not any MSAA or res scaling. nVidia driver 353.62.

weird i get 20 fps on an old GT 120

With a gpu like the 860m, he is not gpu bottlenecked. Lowering the resolution will have very minimal performance impact.

That gpu doesnt exist.

I dont think driver forced MSAA works without artifacts in sub rosa. res scaling should work fine, though.

a 760 should also be not introducing any bottleneck at 1080p resolutions. You should get very little performance difference from 1280x1024 to 1080p or even 1440p.
