It may be optimized for you and me but it certainly still isn't for the large majority of players.
You can find the 0.07 download on Cryptic Sea's website, though it's really outdated and isn't a good representation of what the game is actually like now.
Hey can I download this demo version? :D Or is it only singleplayer or something like that, cause that would be uninteresting ^^
You cannot buy the game anymore, as the developer feels he has enough beta testers.
It has multiplayer too, but usually there aren't servers hosted, as even the current version is usually unpopulated.
I downloaded the demo, but I cant find a real game D: Singleplayer seems only for testing things, there are no bots, and Multiplayer lets me only create a server (probably for playing with friends), but I cant join any online server. Am I right or do I simply not see some important button 😂 ?
I think if CrypticSea wants to really ensure the success of the game, he should round up the last handful of features, polish and optimise, give an update and event to bring back in the veteran fans and then let the game onto the public market.
He may not want to do that, of course, CrypticSea is an artisan in that respect, he prefers the value he finds in his work over business decisions. Sometimes I think subrosa is his sandbox for testing out design and mechanical concepts. I remember sometime in the past during the quiet period after 0.07, he wasn't expecting to continue working on subrosa at all.
Look at what happened to No Man's Sky, for example. They sticked to a solid release date. Whether they wanted to develop it further or not, I don't know, but if they did, they basically killed their revenue and reputation by releasing it early.
You should see at least 1 server. The 0.07 server that is currenty up (and had been for some time) is called "Yevano.me | 24/7." If you aren't seeing it, make sure Sub Rosa is allowed through your firewall. I can confirm that this server is still online (just played on it today).
Try my group. I'm trying to revive
