I used this deck from mid game through the end boss duel. It seldom let me down.
My ratio at the end of the game was 19.00, though I'm not certain what to make of it.

Note: both Agnes and Hype Snake Head are 1 arrow cards and strong man and bomb have no arrows at all. Thus making this deck alot less about it's connections and alot more about it's timing.

Defense is indeed overated, especially when you cannot gain above 10 defense.

anyone have a disable deck that works well that you wouldnt mind sharing? I'm just curious if the mechanic based on disabling your own cards is plausible.

I went through a lot of different deck builds, but the one that got me through the final battles with my Infinity win ratio intact was:

who do you have to battle to get the goddess of explosion cards??

Goddess of Explosions is, unsurprisingly, found in High Explosive boosters. You get them in the Dark Alley.

Here's the deck I ended with on an infinity playthrough. Didn't do a lot of farming so there's definitely some holes, but oh well. Mainly offensive towards player rather than disabling cards as I found that strategy kinda boring. This deck is very capable of switching to that against defensive minded decks though.
