Dungeon Lords Steam Edition

Dungeon Lords Steam Edition

No tutorial or manual
How are we supposed to learn how to play this game? The "tutorial" button on the main menu just plays the intro movie, which is something I would expect from a buggy game that just launched, rather than an 11-year old game that has received as many patches and updates as this one has.

I think when you spawn by the camp fire 'at least' you will get a screen that shows the button commands. ONE of those commands is a toggle to bring up the screen again (toggle) so write that command down. If you have other questions hopefully I can answer or someone. I don't have this version but I played the collector's edition quite a bit years ago. Another source of info would be youtube. Gamebanshee website has a walkthrough and some info, but it pertains to the old collector's edition.

The problem is that this is from the original, 2005 release. Considering how many changes are in the changelog from 2012's release to now, I wonder if anything from 2005 is any use at all.

That too looks out of date, although not as bad as the manual on replacementdocs. Looks like the information there goes back to the Collector's Edition.

Also, there's no manual or instructions on how to play the game, only information on the world.

the changes made on mmxii were are all included in the walkthrough and guides. for example there is classes (MMXII). what else do you need? and steam edition has hardly any difference with MMXII and for that you can check out the changes since mmxii.
the way you interact with npcs, the hotkeys, the style you wanna build your character and how to attack enemies is on you. and they won't bother you a lot through trial and error.

I didn't even bother with it any more because aside from the lack of a tutorial, the interface is rather bad which made the game difficult to play, so I uninstalled it. Thanks anyway.

Kain, what version are you playing? I don't have access to my computer with the game installed at the moment. And that would be the steam version. I don't have my old CE version discs anymore. And what I was referring to in my 2016 post was I believe the CE version?? If I remember I can access computer with game later in the week. And try to find which key to push to give a list of keybindings. That would be for steam version.

This screen isn't available as a toggle anymore.

However from the main menu hit 'options' then 'keyboard' and you can see what keys do what function.
