Most overrated game ever.
I don't know how to even start describing this abomination because there are mostly negative things to say about it.
I bought the game recently and how naive I was thinking that probably game is in good state because they had around 12 years to patch evrything etc.

Online:
Lets start from online which i don't understand how can it be that popular, like since when players standards has gone so low?
This is the most bugged game that I have played and I have played a lot of them.
- giga loading times and doesn't mather if you have good pc and very good internet. Game loading times are unfunny joke.
- game won't load very often on any step: first online launch, changing session, starting job.
- if somehow it loads heist that I start as leader then the lobby is removed and I have to set up everything again
- rockstar servers are currently unavailable
- bugs on bugs on bugs too many of them, too many gamebreaking bugs. At AAA game like that this should be unforgivable because they simply don't care about fixing bugs and have encountered some bugs that are gamebreaking and at least 10 years old. On some Doomsday setup, at NOOSE Headquarters when I land with helicopter on roof, then getting out of a helicopter, guards spot me all the time and it's not my fault since its impossible to be spotted there by guard and I also followed my friends path all the time. Series A - Trash Truck , when team arrive at parking where Trash Truck is we can't ride it and it's very old known bug not fixed till now :| Restarting game didn't help. I had to restart like 5 times to get it working. Can't finish Casino heist because I am being kicked at vault which is also known not fixed bug, and solutions from web didn't help me (like sticking together very close to a friend). On one starting Doomsday setup using skip trip teleport only me, but my friend somehow stayed at start. In some situations I am getting launched out of the map. ANd many many more to mention. I have never complained about bugs in every game that I have played before. Let's say I lost one round at Counter-Strike because of some bug. Ok fine, I will get mad for a while but then I will just keep playing. Here bugs are way too gamebreaking and annoying, and they occur way too often.

- I didn't receive Criminal Starter Pack which was annoying since seems rockstar completely doens't care to fix this problem. However I can say one positive thing there, about support because I made tircket and they solved my problem really fast in minutes which is rare at any game support. But maybe I was lucky.
- the game itself isn't that interesting, it can be fun to play but is it really that good gameplay?
- unskippable cutscenes (unforgivable, especialy they are forced at online, author of this awesome idea should be forced to watch every cutscene from every game he will play)
- some buttons are mapped differently for different vehicles with same/similiar functions like wtf
- why are there 2 places to invite people? (in game and rockstar social)
- why can I buy ammo at anytime (which is debatable if it should be allowed) but I cannot buy snacks and ammo like that?
- all of menus are wierd and feels like I am using game trainer. And ofcourse phone, at start you can get lost at all those menus, you get used to them, but still they are badly projected
- and that menus wierdness leads to inventory managment nightmare
- can't use bunker laptop cause I need to register as CEO of an organization however session is full of CEO
- whole sessions concept is wierd
- people rarely join lobby and if they join they often leave immidiately. Sometimes I feel that almost no one play the game cause of that (and I am using right lobby options, I am aware of them)
- there is no point of the game than grinding which suits more some MMO games. There should be some ranked system like in other online games
- the game is trying to be like Saint's Row but it fails at it hard (By the way I wish there was something like Saint's Row online since gta really needs competition on the market but we know how "good" was last Saint's Row). Some original Heists seems to be ok and fun to play, but some of later updates added some stupid vehicles (like that annoying flying horse). And plot of Doomsday is rather pathetic than nice, it completely doesn't suit the game. Lester is giga annoying character.
- Music is terrible and there is only one good station Non-Stop-Pop FM with super annoying radio host. Rest of stations have few good tracks (for example: Party All The Time, Still, Amoeba, Streetz Tonight). I am an audiophile and I can listen to a lot of genres but this game really has terrible music. And terrible music refers to not only radio stations but to in game music. How come that all previous GTA games had better music theme?
- Sometimes when I wan't to listen to radio (mostly Non-Stop-Pop-FM as i said) it won't let me casue mission (yo I already beat that mission x times, let me skip this voice acting?)
- Why there is no in game possibility to select promoted online job (option from main menu)? It usually leads me to lobby full of people, choosing job from in game menu doesn't do this. And why can't I exit to main menu?
- Why I am being forced to like/dislike job to proceed?
- Why If I am host of lobby and at the end of job, when we chose next one, it moves us to other lobby where I am not host anymore? (this leads to annoying situastions where other host cant properly set up game)
- Why is everything so delayed like choosing main menu?
- Why often I cannot interact with things like starting heist until some of the in-game messages disappear
- I had to set up fps limit because game wasn't running properly. Well it's still better than GTA IV which is in much worse state.
- At freemode there are almost no consequences of acitons you take. Well becoming hostile towards other players isn't that bad punishment. Also cops, you can just get caught, die, change session and no consequences (well sometimes they can take your car, which isn't also a bad punishment)
- why there are same phone calls all the time (esp when driving near to starting point of a job)
- terrible movement, definitely the worst from all gta games. Character running in circles. I can run straight by somehow managing left and right buttons.
- ragdoll (this isn't ragdoll simulator)
- many more negative things to mention there
- now starting from few good things. I really like event idea, however wish it occured more often and prizes of it should be higher because a lot of players ignore those
- some jobs are fun to play
- a lot of weapons to choose from, however I feel like players are using only few best ones
- shooting mechanic is fine, it could be more responsive tho
- driving in game is fun, however as I mentioed before there are some vehicles which should never been there
- really no map change for around 12 years? For this amount of playerbase and limited sessions?

And that's all. Can't understand how after all of this people can wait for next GTA game. I feel like players play it just because it is GTA and there is no competition on the market.

Story Mode:
- overall it is a much better experience than online
- main characters are ok, side are a bit meh but acceptable. Overall imo worse than in some previous GTA games.
- plot is ok, i really liked early missions like breaking into Michael's house with Franklin.
- game lacks specific atmosphere like every previous game had. Ofcourse iut's placed in modern times but I don't feel those modern times that much. Everything felt better in previous games if it comes to atmosphere.
- character switching is nice idea but also this is also functionality which works too slow
- product placements occur way too often
- definitely worst map of GTA games. San Andreas from GTA: San Andreas is much better.
