How to use OpenIV on linux

how should i go about modding my gta 5 when im running linux? OpenIV doesnt seem to want to work with linux so im kinda running out of luck here I have the game on the rockstar games launcher not on steam if that makes a difference

With WINE? Use PlayOnLinux and the latest "staging" WINE release available, then create a symlink of the GTA5 directory and place that into the "Wine Bottle" you created with PlayOnLinux for OpenIV.

Use Bottles. install OpenIV and copy GTA5 to the same bottle prefix you made for OpenIV. Then install the dependencies needed to properly run OpenIV, from the Bottle's dependencies installer section.

There's a tutorial written for Lutris, but I can't guarantee it still works as Lutris dependencies are often dated or installer scripts not maintained consistently. You can find the guide here though if you want to look at it. Similar principles apply to Bottles so either way you'll get it to work. I suggest Bottles. Better maintained and not suffering from financial support issues as is Lutris.

My guess is they already own it on EGS. I assume they're already using Wine to run it. They just don't know how to make OpenIV work with GTA5 on Linux because they don't know that OpenIV and the game need to be run under the same runner prefix.

Why not? Some people like to learn new things and see them work. Open source operating systems should be encouraged moreover discouraged.

im hardware banned from windows i cant use it either because i dont know how to use windows i never was taught in school but i figured out linux
