Safety... I mean theres no public RCE exploits that im aware of. But modders can battleye ban you. And when an exploit in BE is found, and coupled with an RCE exploit in gta, its going to be really, really bad. They'll be able to embed a virus in the bios or various firmwares on your system.
It may not be "unsafe" to use right now. But i sure as hell wouldnt call it "safe to use" either.
Think of kernel-level anti-cheat in the same light.
Kernel-level anti-cheat systems are a blind trust system. Do anti-cheat systems stop hackers and cheaters? Hardly.
The biggest problem in missions, was modders breaking the missions script. This still happens... Loading into a job still bugs out. Cars stay frozen, until the modder controlling it goes far away (not the same as the lag spike that lets you not start your car for 10 seconds). You still get stuck on restarts... All of this was modders, and it still is.
It didn't even keep cheaters out of the game for more than 4 hours after it was implemented.
Cheaters can now cause BattlEye to flag innocent players and get them banned.
That pretty much sums it up. It's on the list as one of the worst anti-cheat systems ever devised.
i've seen 90% less cheaters during online play.
On a serious note now, it's not what I've seen and I've got a real life vision impairment. I tried many sessions recently and it went exactly how one would expect. Cheaters everywhere and I only get dropped in good sport sessions. If that's happening in good sport sessions, you know it's going to be even worse in bad sport sessions. Gotta love how people pull these magical figures out of their asses, presenting absolutely zero proof of anything, but a wild story we're supposed to believe. It's absolutely wild and painfully sad to see so many people are more than happy to lick Rockstar's leather, lace and sole.
Literally just a bunch of ad bots spamming each other, changing sessions, and then rejoining, because theres only like 4 public bad sport sessions at any given time.
Its amazing lol.
- No, it doesn't stop cheaters from using mod menu's, but it will detect if a cheater bypasses it.
- Also, no. Imo, BattlEye does more harm than good. Things were handled when the invite-only sessions were split from the public-sessions. Public sessions will never be cheater free, and even if they were, Public sessions will never be griefer free.
The game is, by design, meant to encourage players to beat down on other players.
