The game was working several hours ago then I got the error. I never modded anything or added files, and my graphics are updated. Renaming the folder in Documents did it for me, thanks. Why we gotta though
Several hours ago though - something happened between then an now.
Just played Cyberpunk, then shut it down. I've managed to replicate the error just now though: I changed my graphics settings in-game. Everything was set to high/ultra so I put them on normal. The game asked me to restart where it then crashed at the sirens. Though I did not touch any settings before I shut the PC down last time before the initial crashing. Renaming the folder in Documents fixed this again.
ive done that and viewed integrety and its fine , the game still doesnt work tho. the game starts and on the sirens it just freezes , then i can hear the audio from the loading screen while still stuck on the sirens , then the game closes. Ive tried everything
So I googled it to see what I come up with, seems this guy has the exact same problem as you, sound and all and it's from 2022. Check this out.

@op -Like I said in my link - there are many other things. Those are just '3' things assuming they were done correctly. There are other things that will crash the game at sirens but before I'd even suggest them I'd rather see the log file/crash reports. Other testing to see if we can't get it to spit out any exact file names. And again- more details. New/old user, mods, anything else you tried off the internet, so on.
You can 'try' running gta5.exe by itself to see if it gives file name errors (and then correctly/properly installing the packages for those files - not just slapping in ones off the internet -- usually related to vcredist, directx, and missing media feature pack on N/KN windows). If you have Onedrive in use, it could also cause issue with the my docs / rockstar games renaming - that is something you'd have to check/enable/disable, test.
Further down the link-hole there are directions to also strip out and reinstall directx. There is OS updates/other driver issues. There is windows defender blocking r* launcher, social club, gta5. Lack of admin (sometimes just necessary on steam, sometimes r* launcher, social club, and gta5). Problematic background apps/overlays - you could cleanboot windows via msconfig to rule most of that out. And on and on it goes. I'd rather see log file/crash reports to get 'something' resembling details' - to try to narrow down things to test.
edit - the directx info is in this link - scroll down to #1 ---

hellsmoke is right - tis the weekend, I don't necessarily take them 'off' (I should after 6+ years of 'this') - just have other things to do for indeterminable amounts of time so availability is sporadic.
It most certainly is a fixable issue.
/goodluck
You sure did, didn't see that. I figured you were taking weekends off so I thought I'd give it a quick search. Don't mind me. :) You are far more experienced at this than I am.
