Can you name ur savefiles?
Hi, I am playing GTA V on my computer, and so is my brother. Now we have a problem. Everytime we play, we don't know what savefile is who's, and we want to change that. Can't we name our savegames something like 'Mine' and then his savegame 'His'. It's super annoying, and the autosave option keeps oversaving the slot of my brother. For example:

He played yesterday, and was at 3.9%. He made the autosaver save his gameplay, and then just closed GTA 5 when he was done playing. Now today I am playing my savefile, and i'm at 7.2%. After a mission, the autosave made me ask to save the game, but that there was already something in the autosave slot --> the 3.9% progress of my brother. I said okay, overwrite --> my gameplay got saved, but my brother his savegame that got autosaved is now gone. The only thing that is still there, is the manual save he made at like 2.9%.

Can you configure it the way that when you play it only autosaves your game, and not overwrites the game of someone else when you are playing right after that person? Or like name the files, so we know wich is wich?

Thanks

Nope. What you can do is create two folder's in separate drives and then copy you saves to your folder and he does his. So when one of you want to play copy the saves to the game folder and play. This is should be done manually every time. When one finishes.

Why haven't they thought about this? They make a game so advanced, they don't have proper save options?

They expect everyone to have their own copies. One copy for one user.

That is a stupid expectation. They must have grown up alone without family and friends.

The exact opposite has been part of videogame marketing for decades, with home/family entertainment consoles and whatever. The only equivalent is that you're not supposed to let other people carry your account in competitive multiplayer games. That's far from the same thing.

Everyone knows people share games, just like they share movies when they watch them on the living room TV. It's normal and it's FAR from illegal or any kind of wrongdoing. I grew up sharing the N64, Gamecube, PS2, PS3, Xbox 360 and home computer.

Next thing you're gonna tell me Netflix expects their users to all have their own subscription and not to have multiple people watching the same screen.

But even personally, without anyone else in the house playing the game, I'd like to rename my files. If you want to keep your cars that you've upgraded, it's necessary to maintain a second save with the cars in garages, stored and intact. I'd like to rename my save files to make which one is which perfectly obvious.

(Yes, I know this thread is years old. But It's literally the first result when googling "gta rename saves" and I've got ♥♥♥♥ to say about the stupid ♥♥♥♥ you've been saying.)
