Why am I always in a server full of chinese people?

It's not that I don't like playing with them. I've played with one or two that actually spoke clear english, the thing is that they -usually- never talk, and when they do is in chinese... even if you speak in english, they answer in chinese.

All of the asian people I've found (I can tell because of their names) are either chinese or russian, and I'm okay with that if they speak english, but I'd like to find a server with more english speakers, I never find american/canadian/european people. I always find brazilian people and that's ok because they speak their language but they speak english too (usually). Haven't found any latin american people either (except for Brazil).

So, what's up with that? Is Rockstar doing something with servers because of the location (based on the ip)?

I can only give some guesses but I'd say it probably has something to do with the sheer numbers of people in Asia, the fact that Asian markets outside Japan probably have a pretty low console user-base, but everyone and their grandma these days has at least a crappy PC (and GTA V doesn't take an amazing PC to run on low settings) so for most of Asia the pc release is basically the only release (so they haven't been playing it for two years already).

Yeah I played a match with someone in Korea and someone else in the Netherlands. I live in California, and the lag was terrible. Tell me again why we don't have a server browser?

I don't run heists at night anymore because of it. No way to communicate with people, it usually ends in frustration. I find a low level person (if possible) to boost, and I grind missions with them till I get bored or sleepy. But they have to be able to communicate so I can explain when we need to go to freemode and crap like that. Too much of a pain in the butt otherwise.

Yeah, forgot to mention the lag. Sometimes it is crazy lag!

Yeah it's totally frustrating to join sessions, plural mind you, and see all the other players with names like zhao or (insert asian sounding name here) You can always tell if they're chinese names. I have literally been the only english speaker on a server filled with chinese.

Yeah...consoles were banned in China mainland since 2000, so PC gaming is more popular. And the English education is outdated, which is why not many chinese can speak English well.

It's Cantonese or Mandarin not "Chinese." I find it amazing nonetheless that some of the Chinese speak English while some people in other areas of the globe just speak their one language. Either way yes that is an issue that is yet to be resolved.

because of these asians, all those lobbies and sessions are full of lag and are bugged too, i dont know how they think we can play internationally and stable at the same time? are they really so dumb ?

It happens so frequently that if I join a heist lobby and start making the trip to wherever and I have cars just appearing before my eyes I leave. I was heading to the parking lot for the keycodes heist and 3 other players were 2 blocks behind me and then all of a sudden they were rubbing banding right past me. During the heist when the FIB start swarming in they just appeared out of nowhere.

They need to region lock this game or make a filter so players who are a certain distance away won't even get a notification about a heist. For those who live in countries that don't have enough players to warrant servers for them to play on then I say tough ♥♥♥♥ for them and R* should quit releasing games in those places. Asia has a big enough of a population where they don't belong playing with players in the states and vice versa. I've played with a crap load of people from russia and I've never really had issues with people lagging just a language barrier which isn't nearly as bad is a connection barrier.
