How do I use the scrapyard?

I bought it with the assumption that it'd allow to scrap stolen cars for money and it did say I'd get some money for every stolen car, or something along those lines, but I can't find a way to do anything with cars when I bring them to it.

There might be a few missions you have to do first in order to unlock that function. Just try lingering within a few miles of the scrapyard for a bit and you should get a call to come and defend it.

The scrapyard pays you based on cars destroyed, not stolen. It will pay you weekly like every other business and give you $150 x number of destroyed cars

So I've defended it twice now, and still nothing. Is it just cars I destroy anywhere? I assumed it'd be somewhat realistic and I'd have to bring the cars up to be destroyed. I found a garage door, and am guessing I drive cars in there to destroy them, but again, aside from fighting the Lost off a couple times, nothing has been going on with it.

you can defend it all you want but you will never get money.. destroy cars.. make them catch fire and blow up or run them into the water. totaly destroy cars. if you want to make money you need to trash those cars. get a missle launcher. take assault rifles and shoot cars in the grill to catch the engines on fire. when you defend the junk yard, go back and kill the gang cars. when you do random jobs, kill the cars you see after.. when trevor kills bikers, kill the bikes too. there is NO WAY to just drop cars at the junk yard. until they post a new update, you can only get money from destroyed cars. it even tells you that you get paid for each car destroyed.
