But first: Guessing you've got a 500-Watt power supply in you machine that can not be swapped because Acer uses a different connector to the motherboard than any other pc brand, i recommend you to buy the new nVidia GTX 960 as it's good bang for the buck, does not use much power and should be very safe for your 500W power supply, and runs GTA 5 fine on high settings. Believe me, i've got the older 760 myself and i can run 5 on high at 1920x1080 reolution just fine with 45-70 fps, depending on your location in the game.
Now, if you've bought your new GPU, do not install it right away. First you need to change some settings in your BIOS to make sure that the motherboard of your Acer PC will 'accept' the new GPU. To get into the BIOS, press the [DEL] (delete) key when you boot your PC up and it shows the Acer logo. Now you will have to search for the option called 'Secure Boot' and disable it. After you've done that, look for the option 'CSM' (Could also be called Compatibility Mode or Legacy Mode) and set it to enabled. Now shut down your system again, open up the case, remove the old GPU, place the new one (do not forget to plug in the power connectors!!) and boot up your PC. If everything's gone according to plan, your PC will boot up like always. Now for the last step, uninstall the old GPU Drivers (Like nVidia GeForce Experience) and download and install the new ones from the nVidia website (if you've gone for an nVidia GPU of course.)
I hope i was of help for you, and if you've got any more questions, just ask me!
As for CPU, i need to know what CPU you've got now so i can search for a potential upgrade for you.
Good luck!
Again, sorry i could not be of much help to you regarding the CPU. I wish you the best of luck with getting your new GPU!
